Wow the slee shocks sure don’t look like they aged well. How long have you had it? Steel body? Looks like rust on the body.

Went wheelin’ with Land Rover folks at Uwharrie NC. Over 100 rovers and only 2 land cruisers. Great time at a great park. It wasn’t long before the cruiser was strategically placed in the line to potentially pull out stuck rovers.

Winchy things. New winch had been damaged in transit. Got the replacement part this week and finally swapped them, clocked it for the ARB, and installed. Pretty happy, but still don’t want to need it.

Not uncommon with this type of shock. The kings will look the same way if not taken care of. You will see guys recommending they are sprayed down with Wd40 every few weeks.

Yeah especially in the North East, they put salt and all sorts of other things down on the roads. It takes its toll on all the shiny things!

Interesting, I thought kings have aluminum body.

"KING: The shock body is made from low carbon DOM steel tubing then honed and threaded. The top cap must be removed to install or remove coil hardware. This makes triple rate hardware more difficult to install. We measured the tubing at 2.62" x .127"."

I was considering coming out for this event. I’ve always wanted to wheel there. I visited last March but it was closed.

Haha, it's funny. I was just thinking "Wow, those look better than I would have expected!" I remember the disappointment when I saw my 7100s my first spring here... why can't we use studs instead of salt!?

Feels nice to have loose ends tied up finally.

Slee 4" lift w/ heavy springs
315 Cooper STT Pros
4x4 labs rear kit

That bumper was a fun build. Learned a lot about welding from a good friend. Just need to take it to get powder coated this week.

Next up,

Drawer system re-design and build, 35-45 qt fridge and slide, re-wire power systems.

Thanks, guess I thought wrong, at least steel is strong.

I did my first axle rebuild yesterday with a friend. Replaced all the bearings and seals. It went pretty good, but it was a full 11 hours from the time I broke out the tools to the time I had them all out away. I did shear one of the wiper seal bolts at the end, which is a bummer. Hopefully I can extract it.

Pro tip: buy the Wits End shirt, but don't wear it, and instead drape it over the wheel as a reference. I used magnets. It was super handy!

Ok THATS a first! Haha! I love it. FWIW that’s what the poster is for. FWIW #2 I’ve been forcing my little brother to wear his shirt(s) nearly everyday. No problems with wear on the image...so far :P

BTW, I’m stealing this photo for IG and FB ;)

My truck has decided that it is a believer in equilibrium. A few weeks back when I did the rear axle overhaul, the gas vapor canister gave up the ghost. Then when I did the front axle, the starter motor checked out. Last week I finished the brake system overhaul and today I find 2 busted U-joints on the rear prop shaft..:frown:. I don't have any spares so had to pull the rear shaft and lock out the CDL - front wheel drive is a weird thing on a cruiser. Least I know what I am doing next weekend.:bang:

I got married!

Destination wedding over looking Joshua Tree National Park. Thanks again to those who came out to celebrate with us, we couldn’t have asked for a better day.
