That's awesome!

I first learned that trick installing sliders on an earlier truck. Much easier welding at chest height than laying on my back.

Applied Fluid Film to the LX. I got tired of parking it anytime there was salt on the road and wanted to use it in the snow.

PS - I neither endorse or recommend this method of lifting the truck but it works. I did one side, then reversed it, and did the other. At least I wasn't wearing sandals :).

Seems like a lot of work. I just park in the grass, slide under, shoot, done. Then park in a different spot for the next 80. I don’t even where a Tyvek suit.

Had those on my jeep before I sold it. Get back to us how you like them on your cruiser.
I have them on mine and they've been mounted for just over a year now. I've put on about 3k miles. Wheeled once in Feb. this year and drove through a snowstorm with no issues. They are indeed quiet on the road.

Well, you are not in California. If that jab was meant for us California folks, it did not go as planned.

We don't wear sandals either. We wear flip flops. For any job, anywhere, even at a party, work, long or short pants, on a date, etc.

Took her out to what I believe is its first time in snow. and tightened up the interior a bit more, thats going to take a while.

It has been a long evolution. I remember when he first bought it, used to see him in town quite a bit.

And we randomly had the same gardener :hmm:

Little dude wanted a Christmas tree for his room after he saw Mom decorate ours. Back in the Cruiser we go.

No problem as long as you put in the work.

The white 80's ar single stage paint originally, no clear

80s with white paint should be single stage paint with no clear coat. That is one of the perks of white paint...

Turns out we are both correct! After further inspection it looks like PO had truck clear coated at the beginning of its life. Other panels that were repainted later in the trucjs life do not have clear on them. Seems they stopped short if the roof though

It would appear this truck shares qualities with steven kings infamous Christine. As when someone buys it they cant stop modifying .

This is true for many Landcruisers owned by those of us on MUD.

I wonder if you can take off the clear, carefully. If it’s possible that what I would do. Others will speak up about this.

Did your Trail Tailor Tow Points bolt up using the ARB bolts that came with the bumper? Or did you purchase TT's bolt set? Or something else? Live in middle of nowhere, so need to order parts in well in advance. Thanks!
I used the existing bumper bolts. But if yours aren't in good shape, its a good time to get some new ones. Recovery point bolts are good ones to have in prime condition.
