Not my video but it shows how technical it can be plus it is a Toyota and I think I saw an 80

Watching that with no sound at work I realized one thing.....I really need to work on my headliner patch collection to fit in. Hahahahahahah Cool trail though.

I like how he say's "that's so cool" after taking a picture of his woefully inadequate suspension travel. :o That RTT looks like a flop waiting to happen. Fun video though :)

Seriously right? I know that IFS doesn't move much but even the rear end hardly moved. Dunno what suspension he's running but it's lousy.

That 4 runner vid just makes me happy I own an 80... solid axles RULE!!

Too bad the one 80 in the video was parked like a poser. Lol

Anyway I’m starting to feel like I’m not cool enough until I create a YouTube channel with some original title that has the word “overland” in it somewhere.

Interesting that a stock 80 would not consider any of that stuff in the video technical.

Not sure a stock height 80 would do this easily. I have a 3 inch lift on 295s and I used my sliders in a couple of times.

It was really not anything too hard for the right build. What is nice it there was a lot of it. Most trails you go all day and have 1 or 2 spots that need lockers etc. but I was in and out of full lock more than a few times. It was fun to get 'stuck' and then start locking one at a time until you get out. Had to wait while a group pulled their 'Rover out of this spot

Technical/non-technical discussions aside, I thought it was a cool video. At one point we shot Super-8 home movies, then we had VCR and BETA tapes, now we have digital cameras and YouTube. It's all the same, just a different medium and a larger audience. At this point in my life, it's not just about all the latest and greatest stuff I have, its about the experiences I keep in my head. I'd wager that is why a lot of us relish driving 25yr old rigs ;).

As I watched that video, I saw a family making memories that can be passed on to future generations. Kudos to them for taking the time to document a family trip.

In 50 years it could be on a page like this. Not Toyota, but pretty cool if you like old iron.

Besides, with a name like @baldilocks we know you’re already smooth ;)

J/k Steve, I got it the first time. 20+ years of working with the military won’t allow me to miss an opportunity like that though

2-3 inch lift, 35s, rear locker, no rain and a descent line an 80 probably won’t spin a tire. Granted the fj could of made it with better line and no rain from that camera angle. As long as everyone is safe and tread lightly then good times for all.

Although I really don’t like people who don’t know how to drive with under built rigs try and try and try obsticles and dig the pits deeper and deeper. Soon only the craziest builts can pass these spots.
