Check out this Toyota Hilux Ute, these are typical New Zealand flavor trucks. There are literally thousands of them here, and for many many years they were the highest selling vehicle in New Zealand. This one isn't so stock however, although, it is the stock Toyota 3.0L diesel engine, with some additional boost and LPG injection. This guy showed us round his Pouto playground for the day, albeit taking some of the more gentle routes at times so we could follow in our street legal 4x4's.

So glad I don't own a Land Rover.

Moved my LED's from the roof rack to the front bumper, re-used the light bracket that I removed when I bought the truck (had 3 fugly fog lights on before)... Now I can light up the road instead of my hood and snorkel.

Installed a new (used) AGM flat plate battery, old one was completely toast.

Wired a new (old) remote starter. Removed some more rats nest of previous installs... Someone should have been smacked.

(Previous wiring, not mine!!!)

Nope, don't need any of this...

Now have LED turn signals, LED high beams, LED spot lights, and LED Green light (volunteer fire). Should be able to see and be seen, and hopefully the remote starter will give the truck a few seconds to get lubricated before I hit the launch button at 2AM at -30c.

So glad I don't own a Land Rover.

I'm in Amsterdam with my daughter. My son texts me asking if I've seen any cool Land Cruisers. I told him I haven't. Then I told him I've seen a few Defenders. Then this happened...

^ mate had a 110 (in oz). Was over here for my wedding (best man), he gets a call from his wife. She was driving the 110, took off from a traffic light, move shifter from 1st to get into 2nd and the damn thing sheared off at the base with it in neutral. She then called "the mechanic" who came along with a screwdriver and managed to force the shifter (stub) to select 2nd gear. Then drove it to the "shop" to do the repair.

Seriously, shearing off the gear stick?? And folk feel rover axles snap at the drop of a hat... Not surprising... And no, my friend's wife is quite petite and not a gorilla :)

cheers,
george.

I did that in my old Dodge 3500 Cummins. It got stuck in gear and I definitely went gorilla mode on it lol. I had to use a socket and a long extension to shift it until it could be fixed lol

Picked up one of my girls. She was cold. Started up like a champ though. Was thinking of stopping in Boulder to see @beno to pick up some unobtainioum.

I was sick of crappy reception so I finally installed the mutiplexor ive had sitting around for over a year.

For the uninitiated, it deletes stock antenna and converts your CB antenna to a radio antenna. (yes, you can still use the CB as per usual) And this is maybe a 10 minute job...tops.

Now ALL my stations are crystal clear, and the wife is happy.
