Well the punch list is getting shorter but is still pretty long. I did get the chance to double check the HF 300ft/lb torque wrench against a pro model 600ft/lb wrench. Pretty much dead on, but I'll guess I'll know for sure when I start it up.

A big shout out to the Phoenix Copper State Cruisers for finding a way to ferry this wrench down.

Trail Tailor adjustable upper and lower rear control arms installed today. Installed them first with the Johnny Joints at the axle. Jason then recommended putting the joints at the frame end so I turned them all around tonight.
I'm good at swapping control arms now. (Not that it's that difficult to begin with).

I'll write a review on these after I get some trail miles on them. Hope to get a few hundred dirt miles in January.

You want to run the JJ's on the lower at the frame and the opposite for the upper....

I'd be sacred to run them both on the same location as it could really cause for a wondering rear end... that's putting all your axel centering force solely on your panhard...

The fixed bushings should counter act the side to side flex of the JJ, and thus allow max articulation when reversed in location from top to bottom.

To summeraize JJ at frame on lower, JJ at axel on upper.

Heated seat install.

Kit courtesy of @LandCruiserPhil hardest part was committing to pulling my brand new leather off to slip the heating elements in.

After that I used Phil's beta and another heated seat thread to tap into the existing loom under the center console. Presto! Warmth.

Plug it all together and now my wife's butt stays toasty. (She wants to drive all of a sudden)

So far I can see this being the least expensive mod that will get the most use.

While some will say it's a 1 bannana job I give it a 2.5 due to stress and blood pressure of removing my new leather and re-hog ringing when buttoning everthig up. (Which was actually easy).

Thanks to Phil for the insights and a opportunity to give this a whirl. **** star mod for sure.

Started by trimming the dash panel in my truck with a dremel to fit my gauge. Always use eye pro, because I dont. Also dont gouge it too far, because I did.

Then wire stuff together constant hot from the battery. I surprisingly fused it on the hot lead, which is really rare for me to actually do. The 80 is changing me, things are only marginally getting cobbled together...

After driving it, i would probably move my rear heater switch over to the left and punch out the center and left for voltage gauges. If I could. My steering wheel obscures the view when driving. When I toss a second battery in ill be using the other blank spot for a second gauge.

Do you mind sharing where you got the gauge? Been looking for one myself.

I have the MT adjustables and never thought of this point. However, mine are installed as you suggest by default because with the JJ at the upper frame mount the jam
nut would collide with the mount when the tire stuffs.
 
Oh no. I need to do the weld still. My arms are bashed to s*** from rocks. Nothing is straight down there. I just got it all done. Didn't have time to do the welds just yet.

Just a cheapo amazon gauge, i paid like 3 or 4 bucks for 2 of them like a year and a half ago. Multiple colors. I run red for everything usually though as far as lights. I would reccomend punching the right side blank though! Its a constant hot so its always running even truck off. I doubt it draws more than a radio preset power lead.

My brother got this for me for Christmas. Heck of a present that really goes through the details of the cruiser using articles from when they were new.

Worth a purchase for anybody wanting to read about these things vs a diesel G and a diesel Disco.

Wired up the forward facing lights. Had to get a little "creative" since I didn't have time to sort out drilling in to the roof. Notched out the valance a little bit and fed the wires in that way.

Didn't get a "finished" pic of the sleep platform carpeted. This is it in process. Used reflectix insulation to, in theory, push body heat back at us. Covered by 1/2" HF walk pad stuff. Covered by a $12 rug.

And washed out the fridge/freezer... No pics because, well, it's boring.

What are your impressions on those lights and how's the glare on the hood? I should have grabbed a couple when they were twenty bucks each!

I will tell you tomorrow night. I was blocked in and couldn't back out to test them. No glare but my hood is painted flat black...

Ive heard good things about them...

I was thinking the same thing. I haven't been happy with any lights on the roof. Between glare in the windshield and fog/rain glare I'm very close to removing my roof lights.
