Listened to my power steering make noise again. It stopped for a couple months after flushing the fluid but now it whines when it gets hot. I might try a cooler or some good hydraulic oil. Had a great trip though. It's a rocky, washed out trail all the way up to this spot. Easy but fun to do.
Been looking at those for a while too. Lmk how they workGot two of these in the mail today. They will be installed in the rear bumper for back up lights.
They were cheap. $18.99...

Definitely can't go wrong at that price, assuming they don't crap out the first time they get wet. I'm thinking about putting them in my stock front bumper first. Can't decide between rear bumper or yodateq mounts for the back though. Will do. I was contemplating doing the YodaTeq mounts at the hatch and some lights. Or mounting lights on my rack. But I wanted something fairly easy, cheap, and out of the way. My order the spots for the front bumper too as flood lights...
Most importantly, they are cheap. If they get mashed or eaten by salt I won't care as much.

Same thing happened on my valve cover. Putting the last coat on and I watched it crack like that, I was not too happyBummed out: I thought I was on my final primer coat and discovered that these two Rustoleum primer types are incompatible! (I know, I should have stuck with the etching primer the whole way through, but it had more filler than I wanted.) Imagine my disgust as this crackle finish begins to appear. Be warned...

So not the weekend and not really 80 series related although the 80 was used so I think I can post this. My girlfriend was in an accident a few weeks ago View attachment 1356203 and we have been scrambling like mad to find all the parts needed to fix her 1986 4Runner that is her DD. This past weekend we scored big and a guy down in Aurora was sending a parts 4Runner to scrap and let us cannibalize the hell out of it for FREE! Got 75% of what we needed and this other guy from Cheyenne asked for pics of the 4Runner and brought us everything else we needed for $100. We have had incredible luck with parts! The next challenge was moving the 4Runner from her dads house where it was towed to after the accident to her house where we would be doing all the work. Insert the mighty Land Cruiser here. Got the 4Runner to her house around 10 o'clock yesterday and after much running around gathering supplies it was looking like this around 8 pm View attachment 1356205
And at about 9:30 we had the new clip mocked up. Need to trim about a quart inch off the driver side but so far so good!View attachment 1356208
Big thanks to @SmokingRocks for being a surgeon with a cut off wheel!
Haha! If only they carried Simpson StrongTie products (who is my fathers employer) which Home Depot does! Have to support pops first!Nice. Unfortunately you didn't follow Mud protocol. Lowe's is the official big box hardware store of choice for Mud. Not the orange box. Come on man! Support my employer!![]()

4 more cylinders in addition to the 4 that are there would be awesome. Something new on the bumper side for sure. Just haven't figured out what yetGood work, but needs more V8. Are you going to drop on a new tube bumper or throw something bigger and beefier on? I reccomend bigger!
Yeah I think the official MUD supplier is just whatever mis-matched hardware people find in their garages...![]()
