Just wanted to get out and play. Fortunate to have trails like this in my back yard. This is about a mile from my driveway.

Attempted to track down high idle problem. Trouble codes are: 12, 24, 31, 71. Found several vacuum lines disconnected or connected improperly, and the "golden screw" was backed out nearly to the point of falling out. The idle is now down to about 800 rpm when warm. Cleared the trouble codes and so far they haven't come back.

Also, I received a care package of accessories: 3" OME lift, superwinch, factory winch bumper, full length alloy ARB roof rack, plus a factory grill guard and tail light guards that I probably won't use.

Not a bad weekend :D

A few weeks ago I found out the hard way what happens when you try to do a recovery on reverse...big FAIL on my part..womp Womp Womp

This weekend swaped the Gears (my buddy talked me into bringing it to a shop to get them done, which was probably a good idea because it looks like it wouldn't be hard to mess up) and I'm back on 4x4.

An other lesson learned the hard way.

That is some good carnage.

Yes, also in WPG. Did you buy this from out around Virden?
Yes, yes I did. Now I just need to get it sorted. Trying to do some basic figuring on my own before I call Simon. I'm jealous of your diesel, by the way. I thought about waiting and paying the premium price, but the body and frame on this one I bought is really solid.

Actually fixed something for once instead of ignoring the issue. Bolted up my rear sway bar after having it hanging loose on one side since I bought it, a month ago. Other than that vacuumed the interior and got rid of the sand and cleaned out my in vehicle fridge. Also washed her.

Since you guys don't know me really in the 80 section, I don't normally do any of that. Ever. Dirty rigs and muddy interior is my normal par for the course attitude when I had my 60.

Finally made time to remove, sand down, prime, and repaint the front bumper; as well as knock the little arm that holds it to the framerail back straight. I don't know what or who the PO hit, but it must have hurt. I was tired of driving the rig around with the fat lip so I got her all fixed up, mostly.

After the holidays I'm hoping to get it back on and change the diff fluids. After that vacuum hoses and some new u-joints chasing down a whine on decel. I haven't been able to find any maintenance records, but I'm the second driving owner (third technically, as the cruiser was signed over to my boss and parked for a year or two).

Now that you mention it, I really need a 2" receiver too. I mainly want to use it for one of those cargo carriers. Thanks for the offer though!
Damn it! Ok since that's what you're after, check out your loca UHaul.. I saw one there that has the plate with 6 mounting holes and it was $45. Better than the $100+ Curt one.
Oh, this one is cheaper (maybe more with shipping, just did a quick check on the gargler) Trailer Hitch Pintle Hook Mount, 5-1/2" Tall, 6K Tow Ready Pintle Hitch 63056

So, I've had my 94' FJ80 with 198k on the ticker for a little over a year now, she was neglected for 5 years (sat in a field under some trees) and abused for 3 more (used as a field car), and thanks to all you awesome folks on this forum (I'm sorry that I can't single any of you out, there are just too many of you), she's now a beast. She ran when I got her, but rough, very rough and into the garage she went with a broken windshield and sunroof (sources of the water that ruined the carpet and caused some minor rust in drivers footwell).

I'll save the pics for the Media section, but to date I have:

Removed interior (killed 7 mice that lived inside - this thing smelled like death for months)
Cleaned out the door transoms (lots of nests and carcasses)
Por15'd interior and exterior rust spots
New carpet and padding (don't replace the carpet without that)
All new stereo, speakers, amp and subwoofer (custom plywood mount), backup cam (and now front cam)
Repaired both rear quarter panel rust throughs, two door edges and a couple of dents
Removed roof rack which was rusted through on two corners, patched.
Al's Bedliner applied from window line down, hood and roof cargo area (100 hrs just to prep it)
New 4x4 Labs rear bumper with tire carrier and ladder (single arm), LED lights for the tag
Clear turn signals and corner lights up front
Clear (ish) tail lights
LightForce 8" Driving lights
Rebuilt the birfields
All new fluids throughout, including a new A/T strainer
New plugs (ran smooth and passed nasty Va. emissions on first try)
I screwed up the Air Flow Sensor (the one time I didn't read up on it) while cleaning intake system - found a decent one on eBay
New A/C pump (cleaned out POUNDS of mouse hair, poop, acorns and what not from the condenser - I get air flow now!!)...the system had zero water in it, even tho the old compressor was seized...blows frigid air now!!
New rotors up front (calipers and pads replaced by field car owner and were practically brand new - maybe a cornstalk or two for decoration)
New rims and (now discontinued) Dick Cepek Crusher 315/75 tires
New 3" OME springs and shocks as well as the control arm drop (the thing already had OME 3" lift, but no drop - the drop made all the difference in ride, steering, and lifted the front up 1/2 inch to level the stance out)

I'm still chasing down some electrical issues. Previous owner thought he was an EE and wired up a locker for the rear, and it's a mess under the dash. He wired un-switched power to distro block on the dash post - amazed it didn't catch on fire. It's now switched and wires that don't lead to anything disconnected!!! lol

Here's a shot of her Day 1...rest will be up on the "Media" page...Nick's FJ80
