@papabeach You tell us how great your cruiser looks then post a pic that looks like it was taken with one of the first cameras ever made . . .

Shame on you

Guilty as charged...but it is the spirit that counts right? I just got out of the 80 after parking at work and couldn't help but snap a quick camera phone shot. Next pic I post will be better, I promise!

Thanks Phil,

my son also enjoyed the tootsie rolls.

*Over the last week or so. Got my spare tire lift installed and put some Tundra tow hooks out back since I didn't have anything back there after ditching the hitch to make room for the tire. Got the winch behind the bumper and in cab switches wired up. I slotted the air intake grill on the bumper for easy removal to access the winch lever. Pretty happy with how well the winch fit and it's hidden rather well too. I need to paint the bumper and possibly trim it yet. I also put some small led strips on the underside of the hood and used the same pin switch as my alarm to turn it on when the hood opens.

You need to swing over to CR and help me put a winch in my stock front bumper. I'll buy the beers.

And you need a second battery.

No pics but I finally pulled the caved in passenger side quarter panel and bumper corner. Didn't get to picky with it. Just slid a crow bar in through the side marker light hole and pulled. It popped pretty close to "normal". And heated up the same side bumper corner and pulled it out. It was a pain in the a$$ and ended up just pulling it off to do it. Doesn't look perfect. But as my motto with the 93 goes "It looks less sh!tty!"

I'd be down for that once I get caught up on everything. :)

I need a good starting battery first lol. Just pulling the 80 across my front yard to test it killed it, even with me trying to hold 2000 rpm. It's pretty bad, hopefully I can get 1 this week and another one shortly after. Just a few minor things to do and I'm pretty much done with mine until spring. The only major thing I didn't get to do was remove the factory rack and fill the holes so I could put the Prinsu on :(

Yes. Definitely need a good starting battery. I like my dual Interstate Batteries, personally. Not too bad price wise. One cranking, one marine.

Are you using Quick Steel to fill the holes? Are you painting the whole roof?

Was on call this weekend and was gone all day saturday and spent most of Sunday preparing for a hunting trip. I did however find time to tig up the diff protections and reinforce the weld on the rear axle. The cap is a Ruffstuff 8" cap bent for the 9.5. I used a CRAP load of large filler rod to fill in and then ground. I also added a plate onto the bottom center of the diff housing to act as a skid plate. I'm going to add the skid plate to the font housing as well. I've already installed the guard on it and reinforced the brackets on the front. I used my flux core though so I've got to re-blast some of the areas to clean the weld smut off. I had all of the links, brake,s hubs, arms, axles etc bead blasted to prep for
por-15. It's getting there slowly but surely.

Went up the Col des Aravis, Mont Blanc in the background . ..View attachment 1354532
Love that part of the world. I used to own an apartment at Col de Merdassier nearby. Never made it with my 80 though - too far to drive from Tanzania according to my wife and my boss.

Yes on the quick steel. Probably just doing touch up until I can decide if I still want to monstaline.

Was gonna install my TJM progressive 50mm springs, but only got around to the rears. Dropped the back end by a good 2" (coming from 863's), but it still has a wee bit of stinkbug. I was going to measure caster before and after, but completely forgot. I'll be driving to Boulder today to see if highway vibes have been reduced or if steering feels any better.

Update: Caster dramatically improved from behind the wheel. Vibes only moderately improved. I see new u-joints in my near future.

finally powered my ebay cheapo LED bar (20") and spots up. loving them, like the difference between day and night..

You think the quick steel will hold up in Ohio?
The Temps go from 0 to 100.

I'll find out since it gets colder than that here and also that hot. I don't see it being a temperature problem honestly, but I've never used the stuff either.

I haven't had any problems. I'm 2 hrs east of Jake. It was 20ish last night.

One thing I did on my 93 was push a plug of it down in to the hole then push up on the head liner to stick it to the underside of the roof.
