Phone GPS with a backward / reverse display? I wonder if there is an app for that...

Yep, there's an app for that. ;) Here's the one I'm using. It reverses the display on your phone and projects against the windshield. I have an old phone I don't use any longer as a phone that I can use as a dedicated HUD if I decide to use it more regularly. I found this one while I was trying to calibrate my dash speedo, and my Ultragauge mph after my gear swap. With my new 4.88s I'm showing about 5mph faster on the dash at highway speeds.

 I figured there was several out there. My question spawned from a random kickstarter I saw on FB.

HUDWAY Glass: keeps your eyes on the road while driving

Didnt have a pretty girl to ride with me this time and shoot guns. Found snow and rescued a 69 year old lost hunter last weekend.

looks awesome! Is it typical to paint with the flares on all at once like that? If so, gives me some ideas for my LX

I was wondering the same thing. Otherwise I was thinking it's a top notch looking job doing the door jambs and everything.

Looks like an Audi metallic grey/graphite. Great color.

Beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel after a few months of gradually working through a rigorous baseline checklist and a slew of upgrades. Pressed in the OME caster bushings and swapped the steering dampener out the other night. Being stubborn, I had to try the hammer/pickle fork approach. After multiple trys of beating the crap out of it, the pickle fork ricocheted off the truck and shot right into my bare ankle, that felt great! So I decided to once again follow muds advice and rent the proper tool from the parts store. The tie rod end remover popped it off in about 30 seconds. It was so easy that it irritated me that I had wasted so much time trying to fight it lol.

My fox shock that evidently wasn't charged at the factory is on its way back from down south Motorsports, so I should have the suspension done tonight. Then I need to bleed the brakes and possibly delete the abs and I'll be good to go! Also need to remove the hitch and do the spare tire mod, but no hurry on that. Looking forward to finally driving it after having it for 10 months! Just in time for winter :)

Took my front passenger bearings out for inspection while addressing a 12-6 shimmy. I noticed some marks on the spindle and inside both the inner and outer bearing. Anything to worry about? Everything seemed to be greased up properly from my last inspection about a year ago.

Last year I re-torqued the front end to 43ft/lbs per FSM and 20 or 25 ft/lbs on the Trail Gear locking nut per MUD research for 35s. I was a little surprised it loosened up but I did just come back from a trip with tons of washboard and rocky roads. Are those heat marks? Bearings looked fine otherwise.

Put it back together and no more wobble from 12-6. Also installed some Philips 9012 HIR2 headlamps. Can't wait to see the difference at night.

Ordered these the other day. Wagner 9011 HIR bulbs. Same ones I put in my 92. They show up and are Phillips 9011 HIR. I think you can find them even cheaper online but I like Amazon and they show up in two days.

Phillips 9011 HIR. Going to run 9011 in both the low and high beams.

After our trip to Poland, my wife remarked at how awkward using the rear compartment was. So, after a bit of thinking, I came up with an extremely minimalist method for improving storage back there.

I dug through the post recycling center and found a decent 4' x 4' sheet of 1/2 inch plywood. Cut it to fit using my japanese pull saw. Then just strapped it down over my spare, and viola! a free and easy platform. Anything I put on it will then be strapped down as well, using the stock anchor points on the floor.
