Thanks for doing the relocation. What you have here is an eastern hognose snake, not a massasauga. Note that there are no rattles and that the tip of the snout is upturned like a small shovel. The hognose use that for burrowing in soft substrate. They're harmless. Maybe the next one will be a massasauga, I know I'd really like to see one .

Very nice, although I'm slightly disappointed. I have seen a number of hognose snakes around. Thought is was a massasauga because the color is much lighter than the mature hognose snakes I've seen here. The hognose sure puts on a show when they are threatened, pretty cool. I have been chasing snakes as long as I can remember, and where I live now is absolutely loaded with different species (still waiting on the massasauga I guess). Loving it!

There's a lot of color and pattern variation in the hognose so looking at the snout and checking for rattles are better characters to use. This guy looks like a young one and they're less likely to put on a display. Also looks like (s)he's stuffed with a small toad.

Another way to distinguish between the hognose and massasauga is to just grab it. If it doesn't bite it likely a hognose, but could be a massasauga. If it bites and the bite is painful you have a massasauga . You have several medical options at this point, 1) go to the hospital for treatment; 2) post on MUD for advice; be sure to do this in Chat; 3) administer a good dose of 1800s snakebite medicine; 4) combination of any of the above options.

Wheeled uwharrie natl forest with the Olde North State Cruisers this weekend during our annual tribute ride to Logan Monk aka alkaline747trio here on mud. Had over 60 some trucks and more than 100 people show up to honor logans memory, camp, wheel and eat to our hearts content.

A lot of "stuff" in the stash. It's been accumulating for 24 years. I think I have new OEM bolts that I bought over 20 years ago...Nothing Land Cruiser ever gets thrown away. Except running boards and roof racks!

Off the top of my head: oil pump seal, crankshaft seal, hot foot steering column thingy, knuckle kit, u joints, front locking diff wiring harness, bushings, bolts for knuckles that are known to back out but have never had the problem (two complete sets), a bunch of switches, a complete set of plastic interior trim (brown), 4-5 dome lights, seat belts, 11 Japanese oil filters (the ones that supposedly are impossible to find...), full spare set of seats from a 92, and more. Damn, I feel like a hoarder now. But not as bad as @NLXTACY...

They are separated in to two groups: those that retract and those that slowly retract with encouragement waiting to be opened up and fixed.

It's the big Toyota oil filter. Used to be made in Japan with synthetic media in it. Now it's made in Thailand or somewhere and has paper media. It was "special" and all the rage. It's really probably not a big deal but I bought a case of them a while back. Just was kind of making fun.

Trying to figure out which ones prettier!? I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it really doesn't matter.....the 80 gets a much desired permanent garage spot and the 120 is always parked outside!

Beautiful day in NCO. Me and the family hit up Deadman Road to Laramie River Road stopping at Deadman observation tower along the way. Enough talky talk, on to the pics.

Rear axle re build
Both inner oil seals were toast, no grease in bearings or hubs, luckily gear oil was lubung them up good, cleaned it all up changed all the seals. Spindles looked awesome for 300k on them. Looked almost brand new. Bearings were all good except for one that had made a slight mark in the race so changed that one. Then re packed hubs and bearings all back together. Should be good for nother 30k miles. Adjusted parking brake so that's good again. Pretty easy job all in all

Same boat. Mine are like the little engine that could....'I think I can, I think I can'. I tried to take it all out to fix it but couldn't figure it out.

Replaced these Non-OEM pads with Toyota (blue) pads and shims. It stops much better with the correct pad surface area!
