After servicing the knuckles a little over a week a go, I started on replacing all the normal stuff under the hood. Belts, hoses, rear heat bypass, new radiator, water pump, a few gaskets and seals, any vacuum line I can get to, and quite a few other things. I've got my work cut out for me! In taking the radiator out, I removed the crappy ebay headlights the po put in and discovered another issue where he changed out the plugs with terrible connections and too small of a wire:mad:

Let me know what you think about the rear heat bypass this winter. I mean that seriously, not sarcastically. I tend to run my rear heat a lot in the winter and wonder if it is really necessary...

Will do. I really didn't want to, but I was replacing all the other hoses and the metal pipes for it were flaking and just looked like crap. I didn't want to do all this work just to have them let go shortly after. Especially if my wife is driving that'd be the end of the 1fz. She already grenaded a gm 3800 this summer, which is almost unheard of lol.

I'm sure there are people that have deleted their rear heat that would be willing to part with the plumbing. Or @arcteryx probably has it. I thought I read about someone that just swapped it all out with rubber hose.

If I ever pull the motor I'll probably fix the rear heat. Unless it works well enough without. I do know that overall, the heat works great in mine. I was dying when I drove it back from Des Moines be after I bought it last winter.

No way will I ever delete any heating devices in my car. I already starting wearing gloves in the morning now in September here in CA. No steering wheel heater

What is this steering wheel heat you speak of, must be some kind of magic?

I did that on my FJ55 after utterly failing to fabricate new pipes out of refrigerator tubing.

While I have the interior out of my 93 I was looking at the condition of the pipes and hoses running to the rear heat. They look brand new. Not sure if the PO ever did anything with it or not.

I was thinking of just running green stripe back to it but :meh:

I figured it could be done. On the cheap. And worry about it in 7-10 or 23 years.

80s have pretty ridiculous heat. That's for sure. I've never been cold in my 80. Even when we camped in it in the Yukon in -30.

Nothing much this weekend.

Added a neoprene winch cover to the new Warn and used the Cruiser to jump start the Highlander since wifey left the interior lights on...

Hopefully we'll hit a local trail or something mañana.

Beno Claus strikes again I'm guessing. I got a beanie, stickers, and something else with my order a while back :)

I got a pair of pliers from @beno in an order and now I use them all the time. I misplaced them this week and started to freak... Not like I don't have 6 or 20 other pairs... HA!
