I guess I'm an old salty dog! Lol! Have done lots of wheeling alone. I was starting up Big Sluice where you make a sharp right and go up that rather short, narrow spot just before the sharp left that leads straight up the long hill. Was stuck there for a good while and needed to back up a little but there was a tree saying "no". The spare mashed into the hatch and the window exploded. The 4x4Labs swingout and tire carrier flexed right back though.

That's funnyb Gary! Actually I didn't see a single soul until I got to Buck Lake. I like the night wheeling and doing it solo adds a bit of intensity for us adrenaline junkies.

This came up in a conversation I had with some friends last week. Has anyone actually tried to use the rear "indexed" washer on the front? IIRC the size is the same.

That would be an awesome hack if it did?
If so, why didn't Mr. T put them up front?

For the price I got the bumper for I can't complain. It does stick out further than I would like but once I get a winch mounted to it it won't look as bad. For what I like to do the bumper will be fine. The the lowest point of the bumper is the bottom where the bolts go so even though it sticks out it doesn't really mess with clearance. I'm sure if you were doing crazy stuff with you 80 you might want something different but what my 80 will see the bumper won't be the limiting factor.

Thanks. It's been a work in progress ever since I got it just over a year ago but it's progressing towards what I want. Winch and step sliders then eventually 35's and 4.88 gears are next on my list for big items. I have front sway bar drop spacers that according to USPS are out for delivery The next things that will probably get done before it starts to rain though are a new antenna mast, alarm FOB, outside temp display and brand new key from the dealer.

One thing that helps the appearance of this bumper and improving the "bulldog underbite" look is to add some top plate to the bumper to close up the gap. I did this on my Tacoma TG bumper of the same design and it improved the look a lot IMO.

hit 200,000 on the dirt in Big Bear.. still takes the drops and tilts and washboard like a champ and cruises home at 70 like I'm driving a sedan.. can't wait to drive the next 200k

As you guys know, it is very difficult to find 15 inch rims to fit 95 upward models with disc brakes. Had my buddy to change/modify my 15 inch Hilux wheels to make them fit on the car.
Silver wheel is the standard wheel
Gun Metal wheel is the modified wheels.
He cut the centre dishes loose, machined the smaller to go on in the inside of the rims and moved them 30mm deeper, and the wheel is a -30 offset now. Running 32" Maxxis at the moment but won't go bigger than 33s.

Before I call you guys over to help fix it, I need to ask you if this is the one I need to loosen up.

On the PS it seems impossible to get to the nut since it resides inside a "box"
The other one is the steering rod, which I am not sure if I need to touch at all in my case.

Loosen the one on the passenger (axle) side. The nut is a captured nut, just need to loosen the bolt.
@jtwopark if he's changing suspension it a good idea to loosen the trackbars and links until the new suspension is installed and the truck is back on the ground at ride height, then re-tighten them. Allows the bushings the adjusts for any changes in height/geometry.

My understanding of the advise given here is that the bushings need to relax and slightly realign after some change in suspension heigh was done.

Either m impact gun cannot handle the amount of torque the two front lower control arm or the nuts are welded in place.
The 22mm nuts will not budge at all.

Hit with some PB Blaster and let em soak for a day or two. Mine were seized badly when I was moving all my old suspension stuff over to the new truck after I got it.

I hit them with WD40 twice at a 10 min interval. Will do it again.

The bad thing is in the PS where I got the diff locker in the way.
I can only do it on the bolt head side if I take the wheel out, but on a previous page someone said not to do it on the bolt head side since it's got some teeth to grab the metal bracket.
I see a washer there, is the washer the one which can mess up the bracket?

It sounds like you need something with more penetrating power than WD40. PB Blaster is good, and letting it soak in a while helps. A bit of heat can also help.
