Yes, the emblem comes attached to another Land Cruiser that might be shairing some garage space with my 80!hopefully you meant something more than just adding the emblem!

Why orange???
Replaced the Valve Stem Seals and removed the Injectors to test them.
Changed the stem seals in 4 hours and spent another 1 hour testing the injectors to determine whether they require a rebuild.
They do so will be sent off later in the week to the injector guy. Lowered the truck to make working on it a bit easier.
Custom made valve spring compressor to allow removal of the collets and release the spring.
Injectors after a quick clean in the parts washer to get the crap of the section that is between the O'ring and the copper seal.

LCP and I took a long weekend last weekend and went to Anza Borrego. Alot of interesting sites, people, and things (is that a ufo?!) and Mountian biked into the Goat trestle bridge - the largest trestle bridge in the world which contruction started in 1914 for travel between San Diego and Yuma. We passed through 7 tunnels and saw several abandoned rail cars on the way.
Next day was Borrego Springs and the many sculptures. Many of these are as big as a small house and it took all day to locate and photograph about all 50 of them.
Camped in some interesting places, went 4 wheeling up Coyote Canyon and hiked the following day up a steep ravine up to a natural spring surrounded by mature palm trees and waterfalls. I think Phil is back there again this weekend with the CA guys checking out the Mud caves.
A great time and worth checking out!

start of the trek to the biggest of the bridges which was necessary to be built due to a tunnel caving in forcing the engineers to build this large bridge. There are several trestle bridges along the way but this is the biggest of them all.
one tunnle was about 100 yards long and couldnt even see the exit opening for quite some time. We brought led headlights and appreciated the 68 degree coolness of the interior of the train tunnels. There were variations of lining. Some had large redwood timbers, some had gunnite (applied in the later years), while others were lined with metal sheets.

The bridge was breathtaking - then on to the sculptures. For reference, I couldnt see over the back of the grasshopper. notice the Land Cruiser helping the Jeep over the obstacle...

I didn't mean to, but I actually got to use my CDL this morning on the way to work.
I bore easily with driving on the roads to work, plus the roads are nowhere near the direct route, so I often take green lanes and farmer trails just for the heck of it.
It's amazing how many different routes there are in the 11 mile commute.
I saw a trail going into the wood line that appeared to pop out a little further along the same wood line, so I hadn't tried it until now, because it looked like it would be boring.
Little did I know that this took me to a really fun off road trail-ish with a severe grade, lots of switch backs and some tight bits.
I got some trail striping and even had my driver's side mirror get folded in when I slid into a tree to squeeze between two of them.
No pics, because I was actually trying to get to work, and, oh yeah, not die in a roll down the side of the mountain. I will be sure to go back with my wife and have her take pictures later.

Finally got around to upgrading my wiring with a relay bank and one for the Puma. Of course, I had to move EVERYTHING around to make it fit but it was worth it. Also incorporated 3 more waterproof relays and a fuse block under the hood. Waiting on a handful of OEM switches and then I can turn on all these relays! Now I only need LIGHTS and lots of em.

LOVE my STT's!!
I am very impressed with these tires. The sidewall is much more aggressive than they appear in most pictures. The tread shoulder is very wide, measured actual tread width of 11.5" on my tires. They ride great, and have just a slight hum.
I got the alternator back in this morning, swapped the new wheels and tires on, and went for a spin. Charging normal again. We'll see how many trouble free years I get out of this Toyota reman alternator.
Space is a bit more limited in the garage now.....the 80 has to share the space with a new Land Cruiser addition to the family! It's a 1986 HJ60. It will be my husbands semi daily driver after a pretty deep cleaning, rust repair and baseline/maintenance check.
