I did a LOT of riding while on a 4 day/3 night camping & riding trip. Here's the first of several videos to come.

Need some ladder rungs on your sliders to climb back in after the pic. ;)

LOL I have $1000 of your money if any 80 can drive this.
My thoughts looking at it says the amount of momentum required to keep from high centering on the brake over means you would never touch the top before your very exciting trip down.

I was able to crawl up in a scary vertical position but I could not get out for a picture without the chance of not being able to get back in.

Having been there IF I could make it up going down would have a much bigger pucker factor. I tried climbing to the top for a pic but No Fn' Way without the risk of hurting myself.

Most of the stuff in the park was not LC 80 friendly.

Call me crazy but this might be the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Just pure insanity.

A couple weeks ago I modded my much too bright hatch lighting with a touch dimmer.
What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?
After several nights with the newly dubbed POS touch dimmer I had to revert back to the KISS theory before I went crazy.

In the beginning I didnt want to go with the larger dimmer but now that the operation is simple and installed its not all that big. The biggest problem with the touch dimmer was the 50 other things it did making seem impossible after a long day on the trail the get it back to just dim. Now we have a stupid simple dimming that anyone can operate with no flashing or fading on/off BS to work though.

-New OME stock height springs installed. Brought it from "scolded dog" to "that looks right" height on the 265/75 tires.
-New Tie-rod ends installed. Profanity, PB blaster, and screw-type puller popped them loose. Took a torch to get them out of the tie and relay rods. I screwed up the passenger side 555 brand relay rod end and stripped off the threads. Made a trip to the non-sucky Toyota dealer in the area to order one. Should be driveable by Wednesday.
-Started to install new Beno sourced Tokico shocks only to discover that the don't come with the criminally priced bushing washers. More to order!

Next up in the queue: OEM front control arm bushings (all six) and sway bar bushings.

Thank you! No fires, shorts or blown fuses on my harnesses in 30+ years

Ended up buying this sweet hunk of metal yesterday

Nice, I hope you have some more pics, i've been trying to decide what flavor of rack I want and the INTI you have on there looks really sweet. Do you have any other shots ?

I like that area back there. I've only recently begun exploring it...

Quoted for no reason other than I'm juvenile, and it's funny.:flipoff2:

On a more appropriate note, I drove around the trail 80 for the first time in a month or so (depressing, I know...) I do have a stock-ish 80 that gets driven regularly, but I'd forgotten how much fun the other one is to drive!

Not this weekend, but I just got invited to take Marjan out for a very rare occasion. The Joint Multinational Readiness Center is Europe's pre-eminent military training area, and they will allow a very few select 4 wheelers to go into their training box on the afternoon of the 13th and tear s*** up.

Last time I know they did this was in 2007, where I rode in a friend's Cherokee.

I am really excited to have free rein over 50,000 acres of some radical off road terrain. :)

Luckily, my wife has agreed to ride along, so we might have some pics.

I had my first actual day off in three months today, so as far as I'm concerned, it's the weekend.

Spent a big chunk of the day driving to the local Toyota dealership and getting some more diff/transaxle hex key head drain plugs and then draining and refilling the diffs. I love these things.

Also put 200 grams of moly lube in each knuckle. (about half a pound each)

Weird thing, you cannot find moly lube in any of the mainstream hardware or auto shops here. Got frustrated driving around looking for it. And then some local helpful soul remarked that "Liquid Moly" was produced right near here. Went to an outlet store less than 5 minutes from my house and stocked up on some convenient toothpaste tubes of the good stuff, fresh from the factory. :)

Looks like my rear diff is slowly eating itself. If it gets too bad, will get a locker and throw it in there.

Very jealous right now- that is truly a once or I guess in your case a twice in a lifetime opportunity...I hope the weather cooperates for you and you have a great outing...did some unintentional HMMWV wheeling at Baumholder a few years ago in the February snow and it was a blast...the Germans were a bit more prepared for the weather than we were (picture)...have fun!

Love a Bandwagen.

The US Army had those back in the day, when I was a young PFC in an Arctic National Guard unit.
