@DougRFJ62 what do they look like when removed and in the storage bag? How much space do they take up?
The shades can lay flat or be rolled up and stored in the bag. I would say about the size of a small sleeping bag, maybe a little bigger. At this point, the only ones I would pull off the the rear driver and passenger seat shades for the dogs put their heads out the windows

My kid wanted his picture taken with the 62 since he said it looked pretty with the leaves. I finally fixed a few things and it’s time to put some miles on her.

Had a front caliper seize and drag plus the brake pads were slightly rubbing on the rotor hat. Couldnt find V6 4runner shocks close by for an impending trip so I threw FJ60 calipers back on in the mean time. Luckily its a super easy swap back when I do service next.

Front leafs thay are W's instead of U's in shape are slated to be replaced on the 3rd and an alignment for the 37s.

Last touch is fixing my super loud exhaust leak off the Header Y pipes on the drivers side. Then its road trip ready

Today I installed a Jim C rebuilt carb. Couple of things going on after this job:

- (Edit 24 hours Later) holy smokes I have a new truck! Best $400 I’ve spent on the 60 hands down. I think the previous carb was 3 years old and I wasn’t sure if a rebuild was needed. I was actually able to spin the rears on a right hand turn from a stop.

- The PO grounded the old carb ICS for a reason...the truck wouldnt idle with the new carb installed and proper ICS wiring. So I popped on a spare emissions computer and she idled fine. Thanks to old mud thread reading for this solve.

- Glad I have a stubby 12mm for the carb nuts.

- I was running wayyyyyy too rich with the old carb. Like immediate exhaust smell told me so. Oops

- I lost 2 inches of mercury at idle with the new carb. so down to 18 from 20 previous. Newer carb insulator as of 2 years ago and re snuggedthe carb nuts. Will need to spray around the carb to locate a vacuum Leak.

Mounted a recovery point from @TRAIL TAILOR on what may be the first install with a stock bumper. I had to notch out the bottom of the stock bumper and I still need to trim one bolt to make the install final but its almost there.

Enjoyed meeting Georg for the first time—talking cruisers and chasing a couple electrical issues down in my garage. For me, it felt like hanging with Obiwan! Thank you, Georg @orangefj45 !

TAILGATE STORAGE. Need to utilize the empty space for all our gear. Used a cutting wheel to cut out sections, removed the brace, grinder to smooth edges, old door trim I had (never throw away anything) for looks. Enough space for a couple wool blankets, dog leashes and dry bags. Still using the original cover, but thinking of another option , possibly thin plywood or ABS sheets with latches.

Can I ask where you got the wind insulation?

Started with a pre Thanksgiving tire rotation including the spare. How many actually rotate their spare?

Black Friday was a 320 mile drive round trip to Bend, Oregon to pickup a new Hardshell Tent at CVT.

Was such a great drive in Snowball❄ and the views of the Oregon Cascades sure didn’t disappoint.

Saturday was able to get my Seatbelt Planet rear retractable seatbelts installed so I could take the family hunting for a Christmas Tree. Wife insisted the belts get done before taking them anywhere in the 60. Replaced the front belts as well since they were on sale.

Went up into the Cascades to hunt for our tree and play in the snow.

The rooftop tent with dogs in the cargo area made me get creative on how to pack the sleds and tree but it worked out rather well. A lot of Toyota guys up there gave Snowball❄ the thumbs up.
