. Reno probably has some spectacular areas also. I hope to be moving to that area when I retire, in about 5 years, and it would be good to know some places to explore.
Rebuilt the carb and adjusted the valves (twice) :-( But, the truck is running so much better now
That area of Colorado looks a lot like the Eastern Sierras in Ca.

I figured the engine stand is just as good a place as any to install the split transfer case. Soon the combined unit will be installed behind the 3FE, which is already in the '86 FJ60 project vehicle.

My daughter helped me with the valve adjustment. It was cool spending time working on the car with her. She is very excited about driving the car once she has her drivers license and the car is ready.

Should also take a look at the mech advance and see if the plastic bushing exists. Quick and easy fix here.
Drug it home from its resting place. Still a LONG WAY to go.
Long weekend for me and still rolling. Camped in Gallatin national forest in Montana last night and in Jackson tonight. Full report will be in my 60 thread once I get back home.

This was a couple weekends ago on the southern part of Vandenburg Airforce Base. Not many people get to see this part of the California coastline. Million dollar views....
And another one from Vandenburg Airforce Base. I post it only because there are so many videos out there of people going up a mild hill on a dirt road and they think that is "serious off road driving". An FJ60 seems to make roads like this to be child's play.

We saw you there. Did not realize that was you. We (me and my boys) were in a dark blue 60 and pulled out on Saturday. Had spent the previous 4 days up at Slide Lake. Was overwhelmed by the # of folks on the trails and at the trail head when we came out. I've never seen that many people in the 20+ years I've been going to the Winds.
Drove it from MD to TN to chase the eclipse. Old girl got us safely there, but on the way home lost the alternator and then sometime well after that, we took a rock in the (brand new) radiator (I have my AC removed thus the condenser that should protect the radiator was gone - noob mistake i know) - so only 50 miles from homeplate, we overheated and had to limp home 15 miles at a time to refill as we went. All in all, still worth the trip to watch the solar event....soooooo, anyone have any good ideas for radiator protection (other than re-installing the non-functioning condenser)?
You could run a section of metal mesh screen or small spaced chicken wire where the condeser was.
