Looks like an amazing trip! Inspiring scenery!

I gotta stop living vicariously through this forum and get my truck on some dirt!

Heck Yeh:). Reno probably has some spectacular areas also. I hope to be moving to that area when I retire, in about 5 years, and it would be good to know some places to explore.

Me the lady and the pup Charles at Upper Geneva creek in Georgetown and Rollins pass east in rollinsville Colorado.

Took the most expensive single part I've ever bought for a Land Cruiser out of hibernation after purchasing it almost four years ago:

Here's the business end:

Isn't it a work of art?

I figured the engine stand is just as good a place as any to install the split transfer case. Soon the combined unit will be installed behind the 3FE, which is already in the '86 FJ60 project vehicle.

Nothing fun...went through the brakes then had to pull the distributor to fix broken cap bolts.. These really need anti seize applied whenever pulling the cap the oil mess is from pulling the filter for access , when I attempted to remove the broken bolts with the dist. Still in

Should also take a look at the mech advance and see if the plastic bushing exists. Quick and easy fix here.

Long weekend for me and still rolling. Camped in Gallatin national forest in Montana last night and in Jackson tonight. Full report will be in my 60 thread once I get back home.

This was a couple weekends ago on the southern part of Vandenburg Airforce Base. Not many people get to see this part of the California coastline. Million dollar views....

And another one from Vandenburg Airforce Base. I post it only because there are so many videos out there of people going up a mild hill on a dirt road and they think that is "serious off road driving". An FJ60 seems to make roads like this to be child's play.

What trail is that? I'm not far from Vandenburg.

View attachment 1516191 Cleaned her up, loaded up, and depart in the morning. Got a call from the Pindale Ranger District of Bridger Teton National Forest. Green River Lakes campground had the campground host leave for the rest of season due to an emergency. They asked if I could do it for the next 10 days or so and maybe the rest of the season. I get the camp host site, the only one with connection to drinking water. I'm going to be right under centerline for the eclipse. Wind River Mountains, here I come again! Feeling lucky!
We saw you there. Did not realize that was you. We (me and my boys) were in a dark blue 60 and pulled out on Saturday. Had spent the previous 4 days up at Slide Lake. Was overwhelmed by the # of folks on the trails and at the trail head when we came out. I've never seen that many people in the 20+ years I've been going to the Winds.

Drove it from MD to TN to chase the eclipse. Old girl got us safely there, but on the way home lost the alternator and then sometime well after that, we took a rock in the (brand new) radiator (I have my AC removed thus the condenser that should protect the radiator was gone - noob mistake i know) - so only 50 miles from homeplate, we overheated and had to limp home 15 miles at a time to refill as we went. All in all, still worth the trip to watch the solar event....soooooo, anyone have any good ideas for radiator protection (other than re-installing the non-functioning condenser)?
