seriously starting to regret the 33's on the stock truck with auto trans. she bogs her up every incline at 40...if i really push her - maybe i can maintain a screeching 50.

also - checked the speedo/trip odometer against mile markers...the 33's put the speedo off by 1/10th (on the slow side) so actually when i'm bogging up a hill at 40 - i'm actually doing 44...

and lost a full 2 MPG.

seriously regretting the 33's.

What did you think would happen after adding unsprung weight and rotational diameter with zero supporting mods?

I just ordered new 31s after debating whether to go 31 or 33, glad I did.

yep - i wish i had gone with 31's. i do have an HF55 conversion on the horizon - so hoping that the manual tranny does the trick.

let's see

last week-end...I drove it and it was awesome as usual
had someone come and look at it while at a grocery store...he had a 1997 LandCruiser nearby

=3

these things are always a crowd magnet

With a lot of help and education from @POTATO LAUNCHER we replaced front pads, rotors and repacked the bearings. We also started building my RTTrailer. Should be ready for SAS!

Should be?
It absolutely will be man. We had a handful of axle parts last Wednesday morning. One week later and it's almost ready for paint and wiring. Will be finished in plenty of time.

I blew my head gasket this weekend
Damn that sucks. When you pull it apart post pixs of the valves. Seems a blown head gasket makes one heck of a super powered 'dish washer.'

Question of the night... pistons all numbered 50 except one labelled 51.
What does mud say? Replaced? Factory quirk?

I have 33's and 4.88's and while it's better, it's still a pig. I drove a tired old 255k 62 the other day and it had so much more pep than mine because it was on stock sized tires.

Well, with my 62, I raided the garage at my folks house! Found the 1960 Sears canvas tent, with most of the poles; a 1968 Coleman 426D with a skillet! And a box of surplus East German Army ponchos! (I will refrain from posting pictures of my high school yearbooks, G.I. Joe toys, and swimming trunks). Bonus score, and fun!
