I drove mine to work the other night (working the night sort at UPS for the holidays 2300-0200), stopped off at the grocery store downtown on the way home at 0220...got lit up by the local police after leaving the store. His reasoning "your lights are dim" I said it's a 50-year old vehicle, everything is slower and dimmer, just like me.

I know he was hoping to catch a drunk driver leaving a bar, but I was a bit annoyed as I just wanted to get home and go to bed. He even called for a 'back-up' cop, Officer Gomez, wanted to know if the truck was mine...I've owned it for at least 25 years and had the same plate since 1987. They held me there for at least 15 minutes, said the plate came up as a stolen vehicle from Nebraska. Not sure how an Owyhee county Idaho plate (we have county designation on our plates in Idaho) can come up as a Nebraska plate.

He ended up letting me off with a warning  and to get my tail lights checked, what a tool. I looked at my lights when I got home (he wouldn't let me get out of the vehicle) and there's absolutely nothing wrong with them.

They pulled me over, like you @ 2 am coming from work and said I was doing 88 in my 1 1/2 ton flatbed. I told them, I've never driven over 68 in it and the computer won't let it go past 75 before backing off, so try again with the 88. Then it was reports of a flatbed stealing lawn equipment, and on and on.

Because they can!

Public: stop profiling and abusing black folks
Cops: Naa, we're professionals, mind your business.

Public: You work for us, this is our business.

Cops: OK but you're not going to like it...
(Cops start profiling and abusing all people regardless of race)

"funny thing about a cage, they're never meant for just one group so when they through with them and you're still poor they come for you. The newest lowest on the totem, well golly gee you have been used. You help to fuel the death machine that down the line will kill you too."

Be careful out there folks.

Last night we were working on a late dinner at about 8:30 when the call came in that a friend's daughter had hit a 4 point buck on the road to town. Elliott and I have a long history of doing this type of thing so without a lot of discussion I started up the iron pig, and we put ourselves back together (we already did 10 hours clearing and burning brush) and within 10 minutes we're blazing a joint, in the 55 rolling towards the location of the accident.
It was brutal.
3 busted legs and everything inside was scrambled. Whoever hit this thing was really cruisin'
We won't get any meat out of this one, but the dogs will, and I'm processing up the hide into buckskin/deer leather which I'm planning to save up and make into an fj55 seat cover...
Good times.
We didn't sit down to dinner until after ten pm...

Installed the Dobinsons FJ55 lift kit this past weekend with the 3 degree castor wedge. From my old flat worn out 1969 leaf springs, I actually got about 3” of lift. It might settle a bit over time I suppose. First time since the lift I was able to drive it any length. I like the lift. After a few more drives and some settling, I will then need to pull my steering wheel and re-center it. The FJ Co wheels arrive Monday so that is next.

That’s sits pretty darn nice with that lift. Can’t wait to see with new wheels I called on and forgot to order while they were on sale until January 6th. Next time I guess.

@RUSH55 I just looked at before picture and it was indeed more forward. Do you think it will move into position as it settles?

As the springs settle that angle WILL improve, but it’s almost negative right now, far less than ideal.

For aftermarket lift springs it seems they spec’d the main leaf too short for the application?

🤷🏼‍♂️
