What did you do on your 70 series today? (45 Viewers)

Picked my new 70 up and figured out all the issues:
-Hole in the radiator
-Alternator not charging
-Rear brakes are junk, but front are good
-Clutch is stuck to the flywheel

On the plus side the engine runs really well, lockers and 4x4 all work as they should. Anyone know how to get the clutch unstuck?

Chuday I washed the big girl and polished the faded plastics on some indicators and the spottie covers. Covers still look s*** but I'm not gonna buy new ones as I plan to upgrade at some point. Refitted the bonnet protector also as the fiddly expanding rubber nuts had pulled thru their mounting holes. Added a few more tools into the tool kit in the rear drawers, and checked my first aid kit now that the snakes are all out and about. Copped a wicked sunburnt for my efforts haha.

Today I started my LJ77. Yes, I start and drive it almost every day, so why is today different?

It was the coldest day, by far, this winter and usually as cold as it gets here in CT.

-4 F or -17 C (based on the thermometer in the 77).

For our Northern neighbors in Canada, this temp may represent the begining of spring.

It also would not be considered so cold in upstate NY or Northern New England.

Those new glow plugs worked flawlessly.

Opening the door after the snow, sleet and freezing rain from Sunday was my biggest challenge.

I have been looking around for the factory manuals; even though I have the PDFs for my truck.
Where did you purchase that manual?
Did someone print out that manual from a PDF; it doesn't look like a factory manual.

I purchased that manual...
The PDFs are nice, but I prefer the bound version.
Now I need to find a RM-183E.

Went to go for a quick drive up the hill. Noticed a few quirks that I need to work out.

1. Truck still doesn’t turn off but I think I might have a vacuum line backwards.

2. Small amounts of smoke coming out of where the turbo meets the exhaust manifold. Not sure what this could be. Hope it clears up.

3. Preheat light stays on while truck is being driven. No idea what this could be.

Oh. And my new hand pump seems to be leaking at the base. Should Teflon tape solve the issue?

It's been a long time since you posted this, but I don't suppose I could get a copy of that list as well? I just purchased a '95 HZJ77 here in Japan that I'm planning on taking stateside. It's in pretty good condition, but I know I have some work to do to get it in the shape I'd like it to be in. (mostly in replacing rubber parts and other serviceable items.) It's also my first diesel, so any specific suggestions of things to look out for or take care of would also be greatly appreciated!
