Yes, both are 045 color code.

Except mine has definitely been repainted at some point in it's past. And I don't wash it very much so it tends to get "brownish" grime on it making it more of a "lived white".

The HZJ77 does not appear to have been repainted but it's paint is indeed faded.

00258-00045-21 is the part number for the touch up paint. Any dealer can get it for you.

Was 058 introduced later in the production run?
As in the wide nosed 2007+? I don't know when 058 white was introduced. But in 2007, they called it French Vanilla. Quite possibly the same white as the FJC roof (058).

Took in my FJ75 Troopy to get an emissions test in Oregon.

Failed.

3F Carburated Engine

Idle Results

HC was at 2184!!!! Standard is supposed to be 220

All other results were fine. I know it smelled like unburnt fuel but that number sounds crazy.

Now to find a solution.

You will be challenged getting there without a cat and an airpump.

It was 46 degrees this AM for my drive in.

I rolled up my windows. I used the heater.

After 2 years without owning at 70 series I bough another one. SWB 13BT with cable lockers. Not pretty to look at but will make a good 4x4 club truck.

Be interesting to find its faults tomorrow when I pick it up.

We are in a heat wave...46 yesterday and it felt like a tropical destination. We were wearing shorts and had the windows down. Only dipped to 14 last night but we are dealing with an ice storm now. I'll take 46 EVERYDAY this time of year!!

You wouldn't happen to have any patterns, setup or writeup for that soft top?

Ha....46 degrees here is like the end of days.

No patterns for the top. Sorry.

I lived in West Palm for a year after I graduated. I remember 35 once. Everyone freaked out.

Maybe someday if you could get pictures to show the top and connection points, that would be great!

That top was custom build by an upholstery shop in Germany , I contacted them last year to buy a few and they flat out refused to make more of them . Top notch quality work to bad they won't make em anymore :-(

It's a really complex top.....lots going on. Funny too because I keep figuring things out that I didn't know it had. A couple of weeks ago I realized that the part over the driving area kind of flops back for real topless driving.

Still a lot of work to be done but we're getting there. (when I say "we're" I actually mean just Rob :))
This time it's being "resurrected" the correct way.

I've been quizzed by several folks about the lack of a "build thread" on this Cruiser. Since this Ute is technically already "built" I don't see where doing so would be appropriate. I guess I could document the "correction process" which more accurately describes what's being done to the Ute.

It could be a REbuild thread. Sometimes seeing what NOT to do on a build is just as important as seeing what to do.....
