That's a bummer.
I once forgot to put the drain plug back in and poured 7 quarts of brand new Mobil 1 through the 4Runner engine and onto the floor of my garage. That was fun.

Went through two rolls of good paper towels, what a waste is all I was thinking...
Next few days will be dedicated to cleaning it up I suppose

I went to empty my oil pan today...

I missed my oil catcher...

It’s easy to say that one can figure out the rest...

A picture of the aftermath would have been appreciated! How are the rest of us supposed to learn from your mistake if we don't have a true understanding of what happened. I feel that a picture would have been beneficial in this regard! Just saying!:meh:

What could possibly be in these 2 crates that came from far away lands? We will soon find out.....

I didn’t take many pictures at the moment because I was frantically cleaning. Plus my hands were a bit oily.

On instinct when I realized what was happening I plugged the drain hole with my thumb.

That didn’t do anything haha

Here’s about half of the aftermath and here’s a little comparison on dirty vs cleaned up using that solution.

Everything north of that crack in the concrete looked like the stain. Was able to clean that up. Just gotta get around to the remainder of the stain. Then I’ll power wash it...
you live and you learn so I’m told.

Oh and those fresh damp marks are water not oil

Going over the Troopy for the South Western 70 series social and some roaming around Death Valley and the Mojave, I repaired a spring plate/shock pin (the threads of the shock pin were completely stripped out), tightened up a few loose body mount bolts, greased and lubed everything.

Run the VIN on an electronic catalog. JDM vehicles do not have production dates affixed.

Oh, if your title states 1988 year model the vehicle is titled incorrectly.

It looks like November of 88, correct me if I’m wrong

I'll have to check that thread @beno put up about the dates. I know my is 11/88 based on the other placard in mine, but it's interesting seeing the difference in JDM vs Australian market. I wonder what the P-BJ74V-MNX means vs my BJ74RV-MNXQ?

10-1988 actually. 11-1988 would be the import month most likely.

Perhaps another set of fender flares that you're going to ship to South Georgia. : )
