Seems like that hose is an oddball size. @Malleus may be able to shed light on this. I’m pretty sure he has replaced one fairly recently. They do get hard and brittle for sure.

@jfz80 @roadstr6

3/8” was just the size I could find searching around on here. I replaced one in June coming off the resivoir that was 5/8” but that’s way bigger than this one. The new hose appeared to be the same size as the old. I would definitely say the hose was the culprit though because it broke like a stick when I got it off and the leaks have subsided since.

Well time to admit I missed my deadline!

Oh well...always a blast anyway despite not getting anything this trip. Will be back in the woods again at the end of the month.

I am looking at buying an e-locker front axle from @Roxx, if i bought this kit from Low-Range, and the axle, would I need anything else?

Ultimate Toyota Electric Locker ELocker Wiring Harness Kit by Low Range Off Road (TDI-ELWH)

Is this my best option price wise?
They are pretty damned proud of that. If you are decent with wiring you can do it for a lot less. If you want an out of the box solution, look hard at the Slee setup

Slee - Electrical Switches

X2. A single dpdt switch and some wire can replace all that.
Add an indicator light tied to the limit switch or the position switch on the locker and you have a neat solution. If you go that way, would suggest a three position switch with center off and momentary contacts for lock vs unlock.

The computer reads the position switch on the locker and applies power to the actuator until it has fully engaged or disengaged. It is really a simple logic circuit.

A three position momentary on - off - momentary on switch will do the same thing with an indicator light tied to the locker limit switch.

Hold the switch until your indicator light comes on and you are locked. Hold the switch the other way until the light goes off and a few extra seconds (say a five count) and you are unlocked

The switch and Deutsche connectors and maybe a relay or two will be the most expensive parts. Even at NAPA prices should be $50 or less

@elkaholic I definetely think I'll go this route because it saves me a lot of money and being a broke college kid that is crucial for me. I will say my wiring skills are very basic and I will definitely be needing some help help from a local wiring genius, did someone say @erymer ?

These are all pictures I saved from when another member helped me do mine.

I hate the switches I used and have since bought different once but despite the look. The wire harness works perfect.

Both my rear and front lockers are engaged with a stand alone harness. No computer and no lights on the dash.

@SFROMAN was your 80 unlocked and you swapped locked axles under?

I really like your set up.

My lx450 was not factory locked.
I replaced the front axle with an 80 locked axle.

I took the elocked dif and modified my rear non locked rear housing for the back.

My Lx450 did not come factory wired for lockers so in order to make the lockers work I used stand alone harnesses for both the front and rear.

Del’s rigging worked great on the rubicon, did things I did not think were possible, with minimal damage

My understanding is that all LX450's do have the main locker wiring harness (which is the hard part to wire) and that all you really need on an LX450 is the wiring drops to the axles, the magic dial and the locker computer box in the passenger kick panel.

That said, Anderson's truck is not going to have it. Mine didn't. I was fortunate enough to have a locked parts truck to scavenge everything I needed to do my '94 to factory spec.

According to research done by another club member, not all lx450s came wired. Mine, nor his had the main wire harness, nor the locker computer.

When I got my axles they came with the computer, dash dial, and pigtails that run to the axles.
The only parts I used were the axle pigtails that go to the female locker connector.

I ran the pigtails and after extensive head scratching and looking it was deemed that the main harness connectors were none existent. So, with the super awesome help from a club member the harnesses were modified to be stand alone.

Three position momentary is not at all necessary, nor are relays. Use a single DPDT switch and wire it like this, and it will work flawlessly. This is what I did in Moonshine when I had a FZJ80 e-locker in the rear for a few years. See below diagram.

@GLTHFJ60 i have been informed that I can actually install a locker and actuate it by hand in the meantime of wiring. So if I hit a snag in wiring that will be my backup. But I like your wiring plan.
