Same as above sorry about your LC's. Glad no one was hurt! Looks like your 100 held up ok.

Even from the other side of the globe those photos hurt.
Having built a forty from the ground up and seeing your photos I share your hurt.
Lives are more important than cars
God bless

Oh s***..... Glad no one was hurt. Admire your new direction and drive!

First off, glad you two didn't get pummeled....2nd, so sad to see all that work get munched. But back to point #1, you can live and cruise another day...just a bit delayed :hillbilly:. Best of luck on the rebuild of the rebuild..

Cheers!

Looks like the windshield hinges are toast. I have a set that I'd be glad to donate to the rebuild. Let me know if you need them.

Thanks Scott I actually gave Tucker a set already. We started the tear down Monday evening.

thanks for all the condolences.

Showed the wife and first thing she mentioned after pic's of the 100 series is that we should get those for the kids to drive when they get their license.

I've owned two, one i sold to my brother the other I sold to get a truck. This is definitely a testament to how well they are built. Again, so glad everyone is ok and lots to be thankful for!

That's truly tragic Tucker. I've never trusted the ratings on the Chinese axle, spindle and bearing assemblies. How the trailer industry gets away with
rating an 3500lb trailer axle assembly that's less than 1/2 the size of a factory Toyota or Dana assembly of the same rating is beyond me.
I swapped out the 3500 axles in the 6000 lb trailer with a pair of 7500 lb axles immediately. They are larger but still nowhere as robust as the Toyota axle which is rated far less. I think DOT really shafted the public in the utility trailer market.

Agreed and seeing the damage I can't get over how no one was hurt , that's true luck and a testament to how tough the newer generation Cruisers are proving themselves to be . I have some spare parts that can be donated as well - let us know what you guys need .
Kind of curious how the insurance company is treating all this ...?

Roma,

Like Sarge, @Bambi Girl and have briefly discussed Tucker's loss... there are a number of us who are wondering how y'all are faring with insurance for Tucker's 40... no need for specifics... just percentage of replacement cost. Is the insurance going to replace Tuckers 40? Or, is he going to have to foot 25%, 50%, 75%, etc. of the 2.0 build?

Not being nosy...just looking for ways to help...

Please respond.

I'll let Tucker answer any questions pertaining to insurance if he decides to do so. Version 2.0 will be much better. Here is a cool picture someone took of it one day when I drive it in to work.

part two of the new build officially started Saturday. We made a call to the local Toyota dealer who happens to be a land cruiser aficionado and decided on picking up this little gem. With a little help from our friend Michael (76fj40) and my trusty Isuzu we brought it to its new home.

pulling the "new" cruiser up on the flat bed wasn't a problem with the winch but backing it off proved to be a little tricky and we soon drew a crowd of spectators from the neighborhood. With a few extra hands the 40 was off the truck and now we just had to figure out a way to back it up the drive and into the garage. Well since the front bumper had seen better days on the 40 as well as my Isuzu I gently just pushed the 40 into the garage using the bumpers :)
