Meaning they are not making them anymore. Keep an eye on ebay. Thats your best bet.

That means no, they are no longer available new.

They were not offically "discontinued" like they are now. The number was still "live" at that time but with no stock and nothing in the pipe.

They are not comming back.

That really sucks! I've always been a procrastinator. This time it really bit me in the butt. Is there any kind of a decent turbo out there for near the same money?

At this point a turbo is going to be cu$tom.

I'd skip all that and go to a V8 like the 2U.

There are a bunch of turbo "kits" available that are basically header, down pipe, turbo. You would need to upgrade your fuel system and engine management also.

IMO I think the turbo route is the smarter option. It cost more but the results are wherever you want to take it. The sc your kind of stuck at 2 options depending on pulley and it can be hard on the cooling system

If the turbo is mounted near the engine (as is normal) wouldn't you get the same high under hood temps as with the SC? And a turbo mounted underneath would likely have severe lag in spooling up.?

Turbo, zero cooling issues and under hood temps seem no different than NA. I posted pics of datalogs in Joey's over heating thread on 100+ degree days.

Bob I remember hearing the guy with a turbo 80 in AZLCA had AZ cooling issues, was that true?

EMS is basically out of business. You would be on your own for a turbo setup.

Garrie Chavez had the rig with the Safari turbo kit. Ran we'll but he rarely drove it. Think he did have heat issues. He sold it years ago. John

IIRC, EMS had similar problems with the MR2 and Supra markets. Just never got all the bugs out of the system.

You're right! I drove Garrie's once. Other than a hose that kept popping off, it was very impressive. Wasn't that a kit offered by Man-A-Fre?
