so to be brief- I need tires for my 93 cruiser since the current tires are 10+ years now. I want to start driving it a little more than just around the block and community. This rig is not for a trail or anything. Just need it to travel 25 miles round trip and go up to 60mph max. Just going to work or take the kids to school. Here are my options-

OEM Rim
currently running Nitto Grappler P265/75R16, I can replace exact for same tire (a bit pricey on my end)

I wish to run P235/75R16 (better on the pocket and can keep this crawl going)

Thanks y'all! LN

Those tires are a fair bit smaller than the 265/75r16 so your speedometer would read fast. it would say 60 mph but you'd really only be going around 55. 265/70r16 is a cheap size and its closer to your factory size.

I get the following alert from the website-

It will fit. The website will only advise you to buy the factory size tires 275/70r16. It will say all other tires won't fit. It is often helpful to compare the different sizes of tires using a website like this:

Decided to go with Hankook Optimo H724 P235/75R15XL from sams club on the original rims. I bought 5 since my spare is from 1991. I’ll be greasing the chassis with my new grease gun later today.

Let's see some pics!!!

So I’m embarrassed to show this but I hope you all can find value in seeing it for what it is and my attempt to keep this machine running properly. The spare tire is from 1991 if my analysis of the 3 digit DOT code is correct. 5 new tires going on 7/18/2020 (earliest appointment) about to buy some tools from @NLXTACY

I hope this is a typo because you have 16" wheels.

It is not, tire shop said it was fine to be within 1 inch of specifications.

Fellow mud members, can you please weigh in before I arrive back for install onto the rig. This rig is just to go to target and grocery store and occasional mini van work for my family to the lake.

You won't be able to fit a 15" tire onto a 16" wheel. Even if possible, I can't see how it would be safe, tire is stretched beyond tolerances I would imagine.

Ya. There's a reason they have different sizes.

Please get vids of said idiots trying to mount tires. Lol

Used tire places will mount tires too, so if you're looking to go the inexpensive route you could always order on amazon, get your tires for about $400 and then pay $30 a tire or whatever to get them mounted.

I run Michellan Mud and Snow P275/70r16 love these tires and this is my second pair. Not cheap but well worth it.

A 15" tire won't fit on a 16" rim. Sounds like a typo to me.

Within 1" sounds like they are talking about width.
