I bought Bens alcans. Didnt want to install them until I paid him everything due... Now that they are 100% paid for I have installed them on my pig. I will have to take pics on Sunday. The install went pretty good and the truck seems to sit close to level. It currently has the 32's on it. I dont have shocks installed as of yet. Im going to say I got at least 5inches of lift.

Anyway I got the springs in, shocks pulled, and rear swaybar pulled. I extended the brake lines.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

I just posted a pic in the original post. tell me what you guys think... those are 32's so I think 33's would be perfect. I also dont like the shackle angles.... going to have to do something about that.... maybe one of the sami tricks..?

thats what i was thinking, the springs look short. if those are the springs Ben was running they'll be fine, but those shackle angles could be better.

are you sure you have the springs on front to back?

Nice she's definitely taller now! LOL those 32's look SMAAALL!

Those shackle angles do appear worse than when it was on mine. I might have had more weight...definitely with the winch and the rear tire carrier and sliders...You could always remove a few of the bottom leaves.

OR...flip your shackle hangers around and get a better angle.

The front springs look backwards, IMO.

Ok... ok.... I have a true confession to make....... :o :o :o :o :o :o

The cats going to be out of the bag soon enough..... not going to mention any names on who the cat is but all my years of working on trucks... installing suspensions, rebuilding axles, transmissions, engines, etc.... I think Im due for at least one mistake.... but its not a mistake I would want out... I mean this is the most noobist mistake one can make. I dont expect anyone to hold back.. I know most of you to well and some I have known for years... so when I say this I know some will be shocked, some might just shake their heads, and some will just say so what... but Im sure all you will be laughing harder then you have ever.... Now for those that dont know me that well.. imagine Ige making this mistake after years of experience........ and even more so for me being I worked as METCAL/PMEL for years. Everything has to be perfect.

Ok... so Im installing the suspension and its dark.... I cant find my good flashlight and I dont have a garage or outside lamps.... Im using a flashlight that has a dieing battery... and I just cant see very well at night most of the time.... so I grab the first front spring and as I take hold of one end I feel there is the center pin.... ahh... ok.... not to mention Im tired as hell... So I install the spring... do the same with the other side. I then install one rear pack before I call it a night... whew... 1:30am..... neighbors arent going to be to happy...... I finish the other side the next morning.....

Sooo.... hmmm.... soooo today Im over at Brians house (aka ridgerunner)... he just got back into town and I wanted to take a visit.... ive known Brian for a few years....... he is looking at the pig... then we get to the front... Im telling him how I dont like the shackle angles.... he then asks me if the springs are doubled military leafed... Im like no they have singles like all others.... then I realize what I had done........ :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

I have nothing else to say right at this moment.... my wife laughed her ass off when I told her...... I think I gave more then enough hints..... and Im pretty red with :o

ok have at it....

looking good there buddy i think with that lift don't you need 1 1/2'' longer shackles for a 4'' lift i think that is what they do to. a Little lift sher changes a pigs look and it looks tuff you are definitely a pig maker keep up the good work.:pig:

ummm, ok, you really screwed up! just kidding :)

Hell, I lit my garbage can on fire last month trying to learn how to weld. You should have seen my garage, full of white powder, all over my face, etc, had to unleash a full extinguisher to put out the fire. The look on my wife's face was priceless. Now that was embarrasing.

You have to run longer shackles with the Alcan springs or they won't fit correctly.

I think they're in the same coolness realm as the FJ55.

Brian sold me some tires. They're Viskafors Terrian 280/85-16's. Phawkers are awesome so far. One of them has a bent rim. I have to swap the rims out. Brian is letting me use the TLC 16" splitties. Anyway the spare I have on right now is cupping real bad and caused the death wobble. I did how ever air down the other three tires to 30psi and aired up the cupped one to 40+ psi and that seemed to help. I am going to install a full rollcage. I am hopping the weight from the cage might help compress the springs more. I also intend to install a front and rear HD bumpers. I cant wait to get that other FJ55 home and start the FJ55-130 truck project.

anyway I will take some pics tomorrow of what the pig looks like now.
