On this type of projects, one of the debates is; how far to go? The gate corners were one of those, something needed to be done, doesn't look solid? The lower dutch door mounts had lots of rust pucker, on the passenger side, a constellation of PO drilled holes. Decided to cut the whole corners out.

Found lots of rust hiding in there, some ~1/4" thick. The opening allowed welding angle supports solidly to the sill.

Claudia, this is looking really good. I am going to putting my cruiser under the knife this fall/winter as well, I am in the debate of "how far to go" with most of the rig at this point. I hope we can wheel again out in the desert some day!
