Daughter says she wants an FJ62 to work on... challenge accepted, how about a cruiser sitting on a farm for the past 24 years?.... muahahhahahahaha (evil laugh)

Don't start.
Rust holes need patching
kinda shifts
doors open and the engine turns.... score.

Leaky rear heater piping... time for a bypass.

Plugs out, with new ones going in... a drip or two of oil in each cylinder in. Need to be gentle for a possible crank.

Time to replace the wirings... can't start the car without the NSS working.... plus other things working too

Anyone replace the high pressure power steering line without taking out the radiator????

You can’t get to the two bolts holding the line in.
What you could do if you want a temporary fix is An-style hose and metric adapters and just run it over the engine, I had to do that when I was in College. I have everything you’d need for that in stock, along with new stock-replacement HP hose for when you are ready to pull the radiator.

Looks like a good project. Lots of good looking stuff and lots of learning opportunities for your daughter.

Be sure to ask the Administrators for a Build Badge. They are picky, but tell them you are going to add a Chevy engine and they might be persuaded. Lol! Nice build project for you and your daughter!

Funny enough, somehow I got to the bolts by taking the bumper off. However, this did not help as the low pressure pipe needs to come out as well. Process of taking out the low pressure pipe somehow broke a bolt and gave me a nice thumb feeling

, hence I will be taking the radiator out and draining the coolant and the transmission fluid after just filling it. Sigh.

I can’t even find the report button anymore. SMH. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Congratulations to your daughter Nick, if she is anything like you, the truck will look like it came out of the dealership showroom in no time

That’s exactly what ours looked like after 15 years in a field.

Some light reading material.

Awesome threads. ya... Very similar

Radiator out. High pressure hose still hidden under. Question is do I have to take out the low pressure hose to get the HP hose out. As you may notice the bolt holding down the LP hose has stripped

I was able to get to the HP clamp bolts and could sneak the HP hose out from underneath.

Well, put the ATF in to test the HP line... seemed to work...

But of course now the LP line leaks. :frown:
