Yeah, with new Cali rules pretty much eliminates any kind of gas engine swaps. Rv guys get PO boxes in AZ.
Sorry if we are mucking up your build thread.
Don't worry about my the build thread. I'm learning a lot of stuff I don't know about the hard core aspect of 80s. I know some like to keep it focused but I don't mind at all.

The rig I built befjre mybfirst 80 had an Atlas 4spd. They are the sheit and I would have kept it for my 80 but there is no way to bolt an Atlas to the back of our transmissions. If there was, you be able to read all about it in my build thread and, I’m sure, many others.

I wish and pray for someone to make an adapter for NV4500 to 1fz for the low range and a place to bolt an Atlas to but it hasn’t happened yet.

You answer is in the classifieds or at least it was a few days ago. Some one is selling a GM 6L swap kit including engine, stand alone controllers l, trans, mounts, adapters, etc. all that’s missing supposedly is some wiring stuff to connect the power train to the body electrical. All on a pallet for $10k. An Altlas would bolt to the GM automatic nicely.

With gears that low, horsepower, and big tires, tons will be next after you start breaking axle parts. We either dig very deep in our pockets or we exercise a higher level of patience.

Not exactly NV4500 to 1FZ but it's an upgrade to the motor and uses factory Tcase. At that point, I rather ditch the HF2AV and go with an atlas. Still limited by the not so low range using the toy case. What @NLXTACY needs to do is build the proper adapter for a 1FZ motor to use a NV4500/atlas combo =)

Joey Please do this for us. :bounce::bounce2:🤩♥️💓💙💕😍😘😘😘!!!!!

Or maybe just an adapter plate from the A343 to Atlas =)

Correction A343 not A442. But I think they are essentially the same bolt pattern I think. Not 100% sure but that's what my research has come up. Otherwise we want the FJ80 auto trans with a 4speed Atlas!!!!

Atlas to 80 rear pinion would be quite a bit of lateral misalignment. Both horizontal and lateral misalignment might make a smooth running driveline impossible. But that’s nothing money can’t rectify. :p

thats not misalignment. this is on my buddies build.
fj80 front axle on the driver side pointing to the passenger side case is!

A double cardon on both ends to help alignment still won't fix it fully. He's running this FWD on the streets. 4x4 only for trails obviously. Yes, don't talk to me about coast side vs reverse side gears either. He's made up his mind this is how he wants his build and there's no changing it.

4 wheel steering?? Has he run it down the highway yet?

Yes 4 wheel steering. rear steer!
He has not yet, he's supposed to have had it done by KOH but that didn't happen. Hopefully in a month or two if he focuses on finishing it.
It's running but he needs to finish cooling system and rear steer and some minor things to get it working. We've been working on it for over a year now.

Hoping I have time this weekend to install and fab hydro brackets and complete my PSC ram kit.

Also ready for install is the Rampt Front Axle Truss kit and Rampt Knuckle Reinforcement kit. Will tackle all this since I'm under the front already welding it up.

The prices are right for sure. Damn, those are some serious knuckle ball guests. Is the truss to support the bigger tires? Do you plan to jump your 80? I’ve slammed mine around pretty good and it’s still straight. I think ...... seems to be.

I bought them same time I ordered the ps box plates. Already paying for ship so I just did it. It's an easy install and I'm a sucker for while I'm in there stuff.

Also forgot I have a Marlin front diff armor I need to weld on too and a Ballastic Fab 8 inch Front Axle Bottom Skid Plate.

I'll be burning things in under the front for at least 2 days. Maybe more

I did not plan this but it did happen, I never thought the old fat girl would get off the ground but she did.

Tire porn

Where'd you get the Kanati's from? I have been running them in 37's and love them, but it sure seems like the price on them has gone up now that I want 39's

Wallyworld 272 each delivered. Just wait till they restock. There's a big tire shortage in the states right now cuz of the whole covid-19 and the shutdowns doesn't help manufacturing process

Those wheels a super nice. Get out the sawzall....
