If you have a lift cylinder that has down pressure, yeah. Most Hyster style forklift lift cylinders lower by gravity, so no.Yes. Put a few wood blocks under forks before you lower it. Thats how the front tires a lifted without a jack
I've never seen nor heard of a forklift that can exert down pressure other than just the weight of the lift assembly. However, looks like there is a way to slightly raise the front wheels on a forklift that has tilt. But it's not just as simple as lowering the lift.
I occasionally still get to use some of my dad's tools that I inherited. Most of them were crap cheapo stuff though. What bothers me is he didn't have kids to pass them down to or they didn't care about tools. I like to think about all the people I've gotten tools, equipment , etc. from and know they would be pleased you're using them.
Picked up this Di-Acro 24" finger brake this spring. It's a hefty little beast, rated for 16ga steel. Haven't gotten to use it much yet, but I have a couple of projects coming up soon that it will be very handy for.
