Rosen aircraft sunvisor to replace sagging visor?

FYI, I gave them a 70-series visor first time they stopped by. 😉

Good to hear... I should be doing a lot of work on the Troopy the next few months. This is on the list.

@SNLC any chance you have any new 80 mount revision news back from Rosen? Weird they would reach out to move on this and just drop it.

Got a drawing from them with some good specs and may have enough to get some made and test fit but still need to check fitment with the actual visor and would MUCH rather do a one stop shop with the proper mount to save a little $$$. The nice lady I talked to there said if I pulled the trigger they would likely swap me a base when finalized but that was a year ago. Thinking it would be fun to say WTF and see if I can make these mounts work. Just forgot to stop by the local shop to see if they would entertain machining this on the way home today... Seems like a lot of places online now to send this 360 drawing to and they would machine and some even would anodize and clean them up.
Any Rosen reps on here that would take my donated time to use this and finalize this mount if I didn't butcher this too bad? Willing to sill pay full price, just want to get this over with already.😂

Made this off a few quick measurements on my OEM set. May need a few tweaks and need to import the proper black screw mounts from McMaster-Carr. Sounds like the OEM length works well. Along with a longer 10-32 set screw, but don't see why their shorter screw wouldn't work. Fixed mount and ditched the slots.

based this off initial drawing and should be pretty accurate of what they currently offer outside the slot on the set screw side.

Would be interested in a pair of correctly shaped mounts if ever available. The slotted thing works but it looks really stupid considering the price.

I actually did this and sent to Rosen a year or two before I started Wits' End. I thought they moved to the new design with the 80s going forward but maybe not. I could machine a bunch if needed.

Great idea but wouldn’t your production cost be through the roof and could you sell enough to make it worth the effort? I say lets run down the guy from Rosen and push them to make it a reality

My understanding was that they were ready to be produced. He stopped by last time to check fitment of the new design which was gtg.

Cheers

This upgrade worth $300?

I think they're worth every penny, my wife who's normally my passenger would say different she would say there's no way in hell she's going anywhere without those sun visors she loves them.

Besides it's kind of cool that you've got Learjet sun visors in your 80

I like them. My GF likes them. My daughter likes the old OEM visors better. Go figure. My old OEM ones were having a hard time staying horizontal, so I will vote for the Rosens for my camp. I thought it was going to feel like too much money, but I am over it.

The Rosen lenses don’t block the sun. Duh. They’re essentially sunglasses. They reflect UV rays. If you prefer sunlight blocked, then keep/refurbish the factory visors.

I use my Rosen visors to either double up my Ray Bans or just use them as sunglasses surrogates when I don’t want to wear them.

They look pretty damn cool, too, especially when you’re rolling down the street with your entire face covered and people are like wtf is that?

I would prefer just a replacement sun visor that is similar to OE. I thought I read somewhere that a Camry sun visor is a perfect fit?

awesome! Now find some OEM visors that aren't $100 each! I don't want the Rosen.
