Curious, what are you planning to run for gears? Watched a SwapTime YT vid yesterday that has me a bit concerned about the gear ratios and the 10/8 speeds. I know my 4.88’s will need to go and I don’t want to run larger than 35’s for a daily. Anyone have an idea on what the lowest numeric gear set is that we can get?
4:10 and 35s will be right at 2200 RPM at 80 IIRC

Problem is, that transmission is going to expect somewhere between 3.23 - 3.4 running on 35’s to match what it was engineered for, correct? Least that is what Mitch was showing in his vid and it makes sense. Stock specs of a ZR2 Silverado Bison with the 6.2/10 combo and 275/70R18 comes with 3.23. Calculated up for 35’s it comes out to 3.37 needed.

Correct but when you order from Mitch you put your tire size and gear ratio in the order form and he programs the ECU TCM to match.

Excellent news! I crunched the numbers, and leaving my 4.88's in would have a motor spinning at 2277 RPM at 120 km/hr (74.6 MPH) in top gear running 315/70/17's. Sounds like a perfectly reasonable place to be on a highway cruise considering the 1FZFE is at 2669 RPM at the same speed.

My wrapped headers lasted 10 years but I'm going to cast iron manifolds now. Much neater under hood too. A mate has fabbed up stainless dump pipes out of 2.5 mandrel bend to connect to the old system under floor in front of the cats.

can you please give me the part number for the fans or what was the donor car ?
So that’s a kit that Torfab made for me. Its a custom shroud for the 80 series radiator. It’s not in his website so me makes them to order. About $800 I think.

Here are the part numbers from the fans

Thank you. Did you figur out how to do aC lines and are you going to use Toyota a/c pressure sensor or you going to add GM ?

The SwapTime harness uses the factory GM AC pressure switch and all it needs to run the compressor is a 12v signal. He includes a labeled wire so that part is easy. On the AC lines I found a guy who does mobile work and he is going to come to the house and make me a set of custom lines using the Toyota and GM ends to mate the two.

Mitch sells the GM pressure switch if it didn’t come on your donor engine.

Looks like the swaptime is making this swap really simple. 👍

Looks awesome 😎
Do you happen to have a picture that shows how you did power steering hose connection? Also charcoal canister where you connected on the engine side ?

The power steering I just converted to 6AN I’ll try to get some pics. The charcoal canister “vacuum” line I’m T-ing into an oil catch can between the PCV valve and intake.
