I wish I could take credit for the mean face pics. I got this habit from @CaptClose while on our 6000 mile trip to get Old Landy. It has stuck. Some example pics from the the Old Landy trip with @CaptClose sporting his mean face.

Ryan is the master of the mean face.
 
This past we got a lot done at the barn! Since the Alfin Pistons just got back from @Yackster’s place we now can start putting the engine back together!
 
First thing was to blow out all oil and coolent holes make sure everything was free of any dust or dirt. Then we started by cleaning the Crank bearing races from any old oil or grease, then with some brand new engine assembly grease we installed the new bearings. Our block is stamped with all 2’s which I believe is bearing size, but when we told our Australian contact he sent us a box of bearings with just standard so we are hoping they are two’s and not 1’s or 3’s. (Will include pictures below!)

After the Crank seemed to be turning well we removed the bearing caps and laid a piece of plastigauge on each bearing! After we torqued the bolts to exactly 100 ft lbs we checked the oil clearance and everything seemed to be in the .0013 and .0027 range!

Next we installed the pistons! All con rod bearings were replaced with new ones and greased with the assembly grease. A word of advice... if you sent your pistons were sent to the machine shop or you just have the con rod caps separate make sure you match the specific caps to their respective con rods before you install them 😂 . May or may not have messed up on that one....🤔

Each Con rod was then first hand tightened so they were able to freely turn with the Crankshaft! Then each was turned to top dead center where we laid a piece of plastigauge and torqued down to 65ft lbs! Once removed all were well within specifications for oil clearance (.0012 - .0028)
