After many years of searching I was able to find a very unique Troopy. Its factory painted in 653 olive. 51k original KM, and has beautiful middle eastern Burberry vinyl lol
I’ve already started with a small build and added an original ARB catchers mask bumper I found locally over the winter.

That’s a very nice Troopy. It has some nice factory options. I have never seen that upholstery pattern before. More pictures of the interior would be great.

Got after it a little this weekend, change out the remaining fluids, front and rear diff, transfer case and transmission.

Also looking for ideas on how to Tetris the back of this. 6’6” long and 40” wide. Looking for double drawers, and double slides, likely a Blckstone 22” combo griddle and range, refrigerator of some sort, a secondary compartment with a pop top at the front accessible by the driver. Some heated and cooled Sheel-Mann seats and a refer center console.
If there are any suggestions, fire away.

Alright, winter has set in and it’s time to order up parts. Job 1 is disk brake conversion. What do I need for a proper 60 series conversion without buying stuff I don’t need. I got one quote but I’m getting mixed information on what I actually need and don’t need.
This what I’ve been told I need but they are confirming, and do I really want part time hubs? or keep my full time drive flanges? I don’t think I want to get out to lock the part time kit…
Used Parts:
2 x 1980+ Disc Brake Knuckles (LH & RH) (USED)
2 x 1980+ Knuckle Bearing Caps (LH & RH) (USED)
2 x 1980+ Steering Arms (LH & RH) (USED)
2 x Fine Spline Birfield Axles (Used)
2 x Front Axle Spindle w/Bushing (USED)
16 x Spindle Bolts/Washer (USED)
2 x Wheel Hubs (LH & RH) (USED)
2 x AISIN Locking Hubs (LH & RH) (USED)
4 x Caliper Bolts (USED)
1 x Full Knuckle/Wheel Hub Hardware (LH & RH) (USED)
8 x Knuckle Stud Hardware (USED)

New Parts:
Knuckle Rebuild Kit w/ Wheel Bearings
Brake Calipers w/ Pads
Brake Rotors
Backing Plate Eliminator Kit w/ Brake Hoses
Spindle Nut Kits
Wheel Studs
Snap Rings
Tie Rod End Shims

Also looking for a couple other goodies.
Aux long range fuel tank like SOR or MAF. A 8274 Warn, and 5 City Racer 16” steel wheels. Possibly a set of 2F headers.

Weren't you selling the troopy? Why do you want to put headers? Manifold cracked? Upgraded Fuel Tanks, Bumpers, and Flatbeds |Long Range America - https://longrangeamerica.com/shop-vehicle/Land%20Cruiser%2040%20&%2042%20Series

How often are you needing 4x4? I would definitely get the part time hubs. Hubs might help some with mpg tho very minor but everything will be constantly spinning with the flanges and wear and tear on everything imho
Almost never but if I’m in two wheel drive 99% of the time I’m not spinning the front end but if I do want 4WD then I probably really need all 4 doing work. Unless I don’t understand how this is set up mechanically.

The exhaust system is a little janky and I figured if I’m redoing it why not start with headers. Also I’m under the impression that with the long range fuel tank I’ll have to reroute the exhaust.

On a clean, low mileage rig like yours with no smog, I keep the manifold and pass on the header, my opinion. Call Georg @Valley Hybrids regarding the tank.

Honestly not sure if headers best way to go or not. Couple options
Another mudder is making some check out Trimeki based on the Downey headers.

Another option is below.
