When there's a "WTF is that!?" we call @Godwin ...I will also say that over my life, depending on where I was living at the time, I've seen spider egg sacks, snake eggs, lizard eggs and gecko eggs in some unusual places. Game on.....

Cheers to your rum and coke with my gin and tonic!TGIF !!!
knuckle47 you are not allowed to play, because you already know the answer.
Let's have some fun. When the front disc brake conversion was being done and the knuckles and birfs and everything were getting cleaned up and prepped, the guy that was doing it sent me this photos because he has personally owned probably a dozen FJ40's of his own, and has redone many for other people, but this was a first for him, so he sent me a pic. It probably looked even more wild / crazy but he had already removed some with the pick you can see in the photo.
Name what doesn't belong. For every wrong answer, take a shot or a chug of your favorite Friday night liquid of choice:

Teacher! teacher! ….…..I know, I know…. !
Cheers to your rum and coke with my gin and tonic!
This is looking at the inner end of the outer birfield axle. Was it open to the air, i.e. the spindle, etc. was removed? I have no ****ing clue what I'm looking at haha but I've found bumble / mason bee nests in very odd places, even greasy ones, and they sort of look like that material. Did bees get in there and make that whitish/yellow material part of whatever is in there? Need a pic of the inner axle that was removed.
But it's packed in behind the cage and race assembly. Sort of looks like spray foam... I need a refill.
It is NOT bat****, LOL, so everyone take a drink! Woohoo! Let's get this Friday night started with a bang! I will also say that over my life, depending on where I was living at the time, I've seen spider egg sacks, snake eggs, lizard eggs and gecko eggs in some unusual places. Game on.....
Ah! That's why I guessed something like spray foam. How'd they get in there? The mystery item is...... styrofoam packing peanuts!

@FloridaLife I have these…and they do work. I have never liked the idea of wheel locks, but unfortunately, it is a necessary part of life in some areas and my FJ40 has them. The Silverado has them and so does the suburban…I keep track of that little unlocking key like NASA on a space shuttle.
The ones on my FJ40 were misplaced somewhere and I could not get the wheels off without a key. I tried seven different master key set ups and none of them worked so when I saw this on Amazon. I figured as the last resort it would work or I’d be sitting there with a torch on a Dremel tool, cutting them off. When I tap them on and hit them with the half inch drive breaker bar they literally rolled right off in seconds in my case it was a lifesaver. I could only imagine getting stuck on the road and not having the option of removing the wheel if needed.
Well wouldn’t you know I have a small leak in the tire on the Suburban so I figured I would remove the wheel and plug the hole. A tiny little piece of plastic wedged itself in and pierced the tire. I go looking everywhere possible for that effing key and there is nothing to be found. I pull out the magic nut remover and it worked again perfectly so I figured I would remove all of the wheel locks on that thing as well.
When I get to the very last wheel and remove the center cap whatever a hole decided to remove the wheel at the Chevy dealer last had left the key on the actual lock, lug nut and put the cap back on. I was fit to be tied.
As for these rounded bolt removers, that absolutely worked perfectly
EDITED because when I wrote as-hole (purposely misspelled ) the auto censors made it a****** and not my original intent![]()
Fan shroud is a later shroud. 71/72 still has the big square one. This is a good option for someone swapping in AC….OK @Jdc1 and @cruisermatt and all you experts out there, I've got a mystery you guys can help solve.
Someone with a '72 FJ40 reached out to me about the air cleaner and radiator fan shroud I have for sale. With my 40 being a '71 I would have thought the air cleaner would be the same, but evidently not. '71 has a slightly oval air intake and he said his '72 needs a round air intake. For me it would be fine because I'm building mine to be a fun driver, not one to be trailered to car shows like Amelia Island to be combed over and scored by judges to be 100% accurate.
Can you experts let he and I know if this radiator fan shroud would be correct for a '72, or what year range it would be correct for?
Thank you, see pics below:
