One question... is it very difficult to lift the rack with one hand while pinning it with the other?

no because the weight gets transfered to the lower mounts as you lift it up.

got all the wiring (license plate, back up, cb) done

cleaned up and ready to rock. just gotta get the hi lift on her and it done.

One question: did you design it to cradle the tire itself? As in-does the tire contact the hoop to provide the support of it's weight or does that one tube that it will be mounted to support all the weight?

no just that one tube will hold it. it is gusseted and i hung on it and bounced, dont think my tire will weigh over 165 lbs. of it breaks i can fix it and make it stronger. we'll find out in a few weeks, my 6 knuckle 4x4lab arms will be here.

maybe not but if i hit a rock on the corner those lights ar toast, the stinger doesnt protect the whole rear end.

One thought I had was that you could mount a little rubber pad on the tire carrier so when you lower it down you don't scratch up the paint on the rocks or on the driveway.

here she is out on the trail

the bumper is tough, after going over this rock all the weight slammed on the tail light protector and it put a little scrape on it and thats it, weel pleased with the overall end result

yes it is the teller of the 2, the short one is to small.

not worried about hitting trees.
