Those things are killer!
I stoked on a set as well. Hard to imagine that was 9 years ago.
What the height of your door. I may have just bent my car around too much but a while back I noticed that the aft screw head wore a groove in the bottom of both my front doors.

Anyone install the rear window channel from Slocruisers? I went to install the rear glass and can't get it in the channels without significant force. So much force that body weight leaning against the window moves the window about 1/4 x1/2 inch.

I'm not sure what the issue is. Window Chanel too thick? I can insert the window without the chsnel but theres not much room. I've never had the glass in and the glass came from another 55 that was one year older.

It looks like I can rework the channel rails with a little cutting and welding to get a little more width to support the window but I'm not sure I should go that route if I'm missing something.

@slowcuiser Have your heard of this before?

Tagging @SLOCRUISER so he can weigh in with any helpful advice.

Are you talking about the channels in the tailgate? My glass runs up and down no problem.

Sounds like something is up.

Are you mixing years between tailgate and glass?

Meanwhile about all I managed to get done was creating a mount for the LED license plate light.

What year tailgate is that? It doesn't look like when they put the lights to the sides of the license plate, or when they put the light underneath....

1970; original light was at the bottom. Glass from a 1969.

Last weekend I cut the felt out of the center track of the Slocruiser channel. Still No Joy.

I'm not the only one with this issue. Rear Window Tight Fit?

Nine years after I bought these things, I finally install them. I also got it tagged on Friday so once I find a helper to install the windshield, I'm ready to get it out for a spin. ( after I buy it some new shoes )

Wow. Those scuff guards are killer!! I need all four. Where can I get them? I checked with BobM and he isn’t making them anymore.

Yeah I'm usually a day late and a dollar short. I had the foresight to buy scuff panels, a brass window gear, used OEM mirrors and a Slocruisers entire weatherstrip kit way before I needed them. I'm glad I did.

I have an original scuff plate set...one front and one rear...that looks like they were run over by a tractor. I suppose I could try to save them but then I still need another set. Well and I still need to get the rubber for the doors too.

Allegedly he’s a bit moody lately but maybe if we’re nice enough we could convince him to quit chasing kids off his lawn and get back in the shop…..
Yup. Heard he doesn’t even like pigs any more and doesn’t care if the rest of us can’t fix our rigs. Ha!

She has new shoes. Now all I need is to install the windshield. That requires a helper since my wife and daughter called it quits after the cargo windows.

I'm looking forward to a good photo shoot outside and all pretty. I've got coopers on my camping trailer and think I'll go to them on the 55. Nice!

Yeah, I wanted to get it out where pictures would look better but haven't done it yet. I just took a few mediocre pictures.

If I can get the windshield installed, I plan on a sexy pig-porn photo shoot.

I used the Vintage paint available from my local auto paint guy. I used it on my frame and really like how it goes on and looks afterward. I used another brand "frame paint" on my FJ40 and was disappointed with how it held up to rock chips. Time will tell.

Okay, I'm watching classifieds and I may be able to sell my dome light with a working switch and pay for my build. Damn. Everything is for sale!

Had a buddy come help me put the windshield in. We only had to start over one time. Not bad for amateurs and the best part is it didn't break.

Then I spent the rest of the day trying to figure out why it won't move when I put it in gear. Checked all the linkages to the 4L60. Still no joy! Pull the tunnel cover out just to make sure I could see everything. No joy! I'm frustrated that something internally might be wrong. I'm wondering if the dent I put in the transmission pan might be causing something not to move. I put it up on jack stands. Nothing. Weird clicking when I shift back to park.

Decided to call it a day.

Then in the shower I realize I'm a real dumb ass!

During the week I removed transfer case linkage to paint it. Some Idiot moved the linkage to neutral while under the car and never paid any attention to the dash lever. The clicking is from the automatic transmission spinning when the lock pawls engage when putting it in park.

I just went to the garage and sure enough the lever is sticking out of the dash so I bet it was in neutral.

I'll validate tomorrow and then take it for a ride after I put the tunnel cover back. Doh!
