Found Bryan’s alter ego cruising the streets of Lincoln.

Bryan, no!!! Let me know what parts you may be looking for and I'll see what I can help out with.
Matt,

I will lets you know. I’ve been tinkering around a bit. Had hard time getting it started after I got back.

Would not start, not blown fuses etc. battery test almost perfect, but the terminal needed lots of cleaning. With the power probe, top registered 12.5 but the side where clamps touch was 10.3 or so.

Some sandpaper etc got it nice and shiny, boom fired right up.

I found this is the outside shed…

The RH torpedo will need some TLC - and will be best to do fitment before I send off to where I had the doors painted.

Looking at it last night on driver side, some bigger gaps with the hood- so got some tweaks.

Putted around tying to map out a plan and see what I want to get done for SAS.

Enjoyed a beer in the heat too for Fathers Day

This is actually Dan with the yellow FJC, @fjdiesel is Matt. I've got a decent set of '69 kick vent panels already removed if yours aren't salvageable. I don't think there's much difference between '69 and '80 for that panel? Maybe 16 vs 18 gauge though. Will need to dig but I think I just gave Matt my only spare passenger side fender apron for an experiment and it's not in the best of shape.

Dan sorry. Should not engage without sufficient coffee.

Dan I will lets you know with the kick vent. I need to look more. My fender apron is mangled. Rus here in Omaha has one, and I think I have one too somewhere.

I offered to Help Matt to get ready for SAS and I might be heading to the TC area in next few weeks to visit son and could get it then too. Will give time to really assess

Dan,

Not sure I said it the Black Hills, but awesome job trail leading. That steep climb was awesome.

That was a good time, looking forward to next year. We didn't do even half what I had lined up.

Glad to hear you aren't getting scared of by this mishap, I've had people with much less damage disappear from wheeling trips. Sometimes you've got to pay to play unfortunately. Have you considered doing tube fenders? Not sure how crazy you want to go with your rig. I will be doing tube fenders raised up to the hood and mostly hacking up a set of aprons, if you find one that's a bit rough you can swap for my pretty nice '76 one.

I did dig out the kick vent panel, it's not perfect but shouldn't need much and is straight. But in '69 the louvers were a bolt on piece instead of part of the body. I don't know much on body work, but I'd hope someone could fix yours.

I just skipped ahead as I just got back from our trip:

I’ve got you on an apron and a running board. Brand New TROA stuff. I’ll pack it tomorrow and ship it out, just text the word.

Love ya B

Edit: didn't miss much - sporadic posting and when I did= stream of consciousness. Except Koozie - that is all you my friend!

Sweet! Mighty grateful to all here!.

Along those lines - I do have a bit of a care gift to send you and Paul as well.

I noted the koozie, don’t you worry.
I’ll get the P-side step and apron packed up and shipped out.

I thought I'd continue to do small stuff. A year or so ago, had a lot of stuff powder coated - not everything has been installed. For example the roll bars. I have the roll-bars, front seat backs and the rear jumpers all powered to the closes grey I could find for a 1980. The rear seats are in - just he roll bars and restore the front seat some day.... maybe. Mine look like crap, but are comfortable for 10+ hour jaunts I've done in it.

Back to this evening... I took out the seats, and then the roll bars - yeah scary - can't unsee the rust. my next big project is coming closer than I had desired at this point. Will take time to think how I want to sequence the events - and what I want to do.

Some of the fun...

Nice and rusty on the bottom..

And the inside...
IMG_2746.jpg

Realized my window latch is broken - I've never opened it since I got this rig. Now to look for parts...

And so the list grows.

It’s like pulling on a thread..Sometimes it just unravels. Rust? That’s more like a dusting. Should clean up nicely. Did you paint the interior or is that bed liner?

That is a feature when I bought it. Just black paint trying to mask too much/everything. Like putting cologne on a skunk, it’s going to get overpowered eventually

You going back to “Yeller” at some point? Going to “empty out my pockets ” here, but I don’t think lifting the black is beyond your burgeoning abilities..😁 And, and and Russ always brings a wobble pop er two to commemorate the occasion.

See that? What I did right there. That seed planting. No need to thank me, it’ll be reward enough watching your progress..

That is high speed, low drag right there
