Funny you say that because they will all end up at 12 lbs if I let it sit for a few months but dont seem to go lower. I have very old 15" aero beadlocks with 16 bolt ring and the lock rings have been reconditioned 3 times. I keep them because they are 2.75 backspace and none of the rims offered today do that AFAIK. I think the burping is due to the 16 bolt ring and they don't do it consistenly just a few when really cold. So if its cold when you start out with say 8 or 10 lbs until it warms up they burp a bit. I rarely inflate them above 15 lbs so don't really know if they lose air at higher pressure. I use CO2 so they lose 10% over time anyway.

I used co2 with my old swampers and ran them at 3.5-5psi, lol. The rims would never burp air but air would seep out of the huge sidewall cracks after about a week or so at that pressure.

In other news, Xmas season is upon us.

I ignored the last 20 posts or so but it sounds like you are going to be hanging onto those 37's for road tires. It seems like it is worth it even if you only drive it 1K-1500 miles a year, you really only go wheeling once or twice a year right. Unless you are looking to change that (count me in with that)

2024 was a bit of a dry spell as far as wheeling goes, an anomaly, hopefully. Current thinking is to have 37s as winter tires, 42s as spring/summer/fall tires. If I do that, I'll be able to regear the axles to 4.88s, which will be neat.

Let me know when that happens. I’ll come help

What gears are you running now? I guess with the doublers wheeling is fine but I imagine on road is not the best with 3:73/4:10's and 42's.

3.73s. 42s on the road sucks with that ratio for sure. Works well with doublers offroad, and with 35s/37s on road in high range, but I'd love to move to 4.88s. $$ especially considering I'd have to replace both lockers to do that though.

Look into "thick" gears. That way you can use same locker. 14b should not matter, or do you run something else?

Saw sig line on 60/14

That's correct, LP D60 with an old 3 piece ARB (needs replacement anyway) and a 14b with an ARB. I'll look into the thick gears!

I ran thick 4.88s for a short time in my 14bolt with no issues. In fact they set up really well.

I have 5:13 gears with 40” tires and an NV4500. My engine is around 2750-2900 rpms at 75 mph. I envisioned installing 4:88 gears initially but changed directions when I found used axles that were already built.

Man, my engine would explode if it ran that high on the highway for any amount of time, lol. My engine is happy at 1800-1900rpm on the highway. @boots4 can probably attest to that in his truck as well.

New Year! Where are the tire pics????
