I have concluded that there is always something left. Some how. Some way.
Sounds a lot like a conversation we recently had. :)

You mean the conversation we had where I was trying to talk myself out of doing what I'm going to do? :)

Yes, that one. Hopefully I didn’t contribute to the problem. :)

Lol. You did your part :)
I seldom know what I’m talking about so it’s in your best interest to disregard anything I said. 😀

It was 10% you and 90% me. I self enable for the most part but that 10% can certainly push me over the edge.

In that case I should have used my 10% to get you to order 2. 😀

So when things slow down in the shop and I have free time, I end up doing weird things to fill my day. Thankfully this doesn't happen often.

Yesterday I made a camo valve cover for the truck.

I had ordered a KC Gravity Pro 6 light bar a while back....it finally arrived. We're going to work on some custom mounts to get it on the truck roof rack. Pretty simple mounts that we've laid out and started the process of building....

The Gravity Pro 6 lights are modular and can be linked together.....this is a 45"(?) universal 7 light bar.....kind of wanted it to be no larger than the roof rack on the truck since we'll be mounting to it. You can run them straight across or with a curve in them. We'll run a curve I think.

Nice piece of equipment

Where we're headed....

With the big tires on it, I'm probably going to have to ace that spare tire on the roof rack....kind of don't want 90lbs up there which means it needs to go somewhere which probably means the rear bumper which means some custom work. Might focus on that next year.

But for now, this is how we'll roll. For a few more weeks at least. Changes are coming.....

While the truck was down for the last few weeks getting outfitted with some new upgrades, I had done a light polishing on it. The paint on these 79s(maybe just my 79) is really challenging to maintain. It constantly oxidizes and needs polishing. Single stage I would imagine. In an event, I spent some time with a foam pad and some different compounds.....turned out surprisingly well. The sides had more than their fair share of tree pinstripes so I wanted to work those out which I was able to do.

My shop does a lot of fancy ceramic coatings....big dollar stuff. They are pretty amazing. I've read really good reviews on this stuff so I gave it a shot:

REALLY easy application and I think it's going to hold up well. I did every surface on the truck....glass, plastic, chrome...whatever. We'll see how it does....

KC lights........man that brings back some memories.

I had a set on an 86 Samurai I had way way way back. The Price Club(maybe Costco now?) had a set of Daylighters for like $90 as I recall. I loved those lights. I remember bolting them on a light bar on the top of that trucks windshield and I must have cut 10mph off my top speed. Ha. Maybe it was a combo of that and the bigger tires. Who knows.

Troopy got a set too.....old schools for it.

That Trekker is very cool.

The Trekker is a neat truck with a cool history. Huge part of Toyota truck history as it brought us the 4Runner which obviously is a legend. Nice that some of these cool trucks made it thru all these years unscathed.

I think the rear of it is my favorite. I guess at some point we need to make a bumper for it. I like it bumper-less....has that 80s Cali style.
