Got to work on our KC light bar and mounts.

Had some U-channel bent up and cut some pieces out.

Trimmed them down

This is where these will go. These will mount with some in-bound M8 t-nuts. 2 per bracket and there will be 3 brackets(2 sides and one center).

Made a pair of these to attach the light bar to the bracket.

Mounted on the rack but no hole for the light bar in this pic. What is going on here?!

This is the mount on the bar....

These light bars are pretty slick. They have a series of interlocking adjusters that link them together. They can be made to be straight, have a semi radius profile and have a deeper profile radius. We went with the deepest one. A couple of pins come out and get reset in a different position to lock it all in. The nice thing about our mounts is that they slide so as the radius increases, the bar becomes an inch or so smaller....the mounts just kind of slide to where you need them.

You can see the smaller set screws to the right of the larger Allen head screw. Pretty ingenious setup that they came up with.

Mounted on the rack. There is a center mount that we will make tomorrow....then do some powdercoating and install this thing. And probably wire it too :)

My dog could care less about any of this.

I think that dog started to warm up to me after the second visit.

2nd is pretty good. Usually takes a few more. I think she had a pretty crappy first 10 months of her life. But now she gets to ride in Land Cruisers every day so she did pretty well :)

Rescue shelter dogs can have interesting personalities. We adopted a Rottweiler-Pitt Bull mix that despite her looks, is one of the most gentle dogs we have ever had. If you raise your voice, even if it’s not directed at her, she will go hide.
Kinda sad to think what brought on that behavior.

For the first 2 years I had this dog, she would pee anytime she felt scared or threatened....I couldn't pick her up, couldn't raise my voice to discipline her(fortunately she needed no discipline)....I even had to watch how I would look at her....anything that was unfamiliar to her was an issue. She's taken a while to come around but we're almost there. I would bet that she was in a crate for 10 months with probably zero human interaction. Maybe just for food or occasional treats.

And for sure she is all bark with ZERO bite. A leaf falling from a tree will scare this dog. Ha.

Well....... in almost 9 years, this stuff that arrived on a pallet has gone from this....

To this...

And I couldn't be happier :)

I'm just glad it isn't getting on the road for the first time in 9 years :)

I think I have a few projects that have exceeded the 9 year plan....

Almost 2 weeks and no updates.....that can't be right. Let's fix that.

Something very special arrived....

And it turns out it became my favorite thing I've bought for this truck.

This is the 2017 and up VDJ hood....real deal Aussie one. The raised scoop portion is MASSIVE. And it certainly proves what we all know.....the Aussies get all the cool stuff.

I am going to do a top mount intercooler for the truck at this point so this was for sure a "necessary" requirement. Ha.

Not for you #2....this one goes on Camper. But who knows if one won't make it's way on to the #2.
