Made some headway on a few other things here and there....forgot to take pics. Mainly the fuel filter mount and the trans cross member. Finished that up and painted it....install tomorrow.
The biggest accomplishment on the project, in my mind at least, was getting the harness installed. It's beautiful and it's going to be really nice to have it well mounted, organized and doing what it should with the diesel and the other stuff we added(or removed). There were some issues on the old one that we corrected......the last guy tried too hard to keep things from the 80 that should have been switched over to a 70....like the wipers, AC, etc.
This is about 1/4 of the size it was. It's all plug and play too...great setup. My guy's wiring is really impressive.

I don't think I have any cars with floating screens....all the new stuff we get in the shop have them now. I was really after the larger screen for maps. That will be great. The Sony doesn't have very good resolution.....the Pioneer has way better resolution but was twice the price and I'm not planning on watching movies or looking at pics on it. We'll see.

Oh and I missed John asking earlier in the thread. I don’t have a lot of time these days for reading build threads.
I don’t see any major issues yet because we have both shifters in LHD. Will know more soon.

Ya I swapped a tcase shifter (Nissan Patrol) once from RHD to LHD. Nissan always had that shifter on the drivers side. It was a pain and required some fab and machining.

Hopefully shifter stuff is behind us.....we still have to make a transfer case shift lever support.....hopefully that goes smoothy. Couldn't use the 343 setup from the FZJ80. Kind of want to address that this week.
Today was a busy day on the truck.....too busy....we were all on top of each other. Kind of wanted to get a good lay out of how things were going to be placed....so we know where problems are going to be.
This is where we ended up with things loosely in place
Fuel filter location....hopefully some fittings for it tomorrow so we can check it off the list.
Water temp sensor for the gauge is going to go in this aluminum adapter. Never used one before....a little weary of it but It seems like a good idea(which I'm sure I will regret at some point). We are using the 1FZ radiator since I have it and it's brand new.....required a funky hose setup....part 1FZ.....part 1HZ. Shroud is a 1HZ which of course will need some modifications since it bolts up differently to the 1FZ radiator. The coolant overflow bottle made it in....that was my project which took just about 4 hours too long.....distraction central in the shop today.....mostly being ADD.

This side has a WHOLE lot going on......AC, air intake, cruise control box and obviously all the exhaust side stuff that will eventually be in place although some bad news on the turbo today.....cracked housing 
I think we'll get the truck running and driving, then go back and address some of the AC stuff....it will work but I'm not so fond of the lines. These worked great for the 1FZ but will look kind of crappy once were done assembling. I had to slightly modify the high pressure line to make it fit. We're using the top from the 1FZ compressor....the 1HDT had different size lines(which I have). The 1FZ compressor is down low.....up high on the 1HDT. Going to need a new line to the condenser...so that's not bad.
This 1HDT lid certainly isn't going to work but that's an easy mod. This truck will get the Safari Snorkel Airmax on it so I'll mod the housing once we get that in...backordered. Going to try to keep the air box right where it is since it will be a straight shot to the snorkel.
This is where the cruise control mechanism fits.....the 1FZ accelerator cable will reach over to it(the 1FZ cruise control was mounted here)....then the HDJ81s throttle cable from the cruise to the motor fits just fine. The only unfortunate part of this system is that it sucks up the space where I kind of hoped to put a second battery for the future winch......I'm sure all of this will come out at some point.

Finished installing the front floor mat so we can keep going on installing interior stuff.....a few more things to mount before the dash goes in. Can't wait to finish the interior.....I don't mind having any of the mechanicals apart but the interior apart gives me anxiety for some reason. Very challenging to get the floor covering in nicely when you install the mass loaded vinyl....things change dimensions. This one went in pretty well.

And while we were on the truck......this was going on the bench behind us. Marlin Crawler part-time kit and Trail Gear low range gears installed. We're using the 1FZ's A343 HF2AV transfer instead of the one that came with the A442 which was a HF2A...
Transfer will go in tomorrow so we can measure driveshaft lengths and getting those modified so they're ready to go.

And finally.....we welded this back together and cleaned it up so it's ready for powder coat. It looks horrible in these pics....the corners are weird, the top is crooked, the pod looks to be sagging a bit. When it's black(textured black) and mounted, it will look great. I hope.

Unfortunately nothing there. I think the glues end up deteriorating and then the foam separates from the plastic. Headliners do this in the fancy cars we work on...older ones at least. These poor pods take a beating from the sun so it's no surprise they're a little warped.
