Kevin do you know how much taller the 2F block is than the 3F block? Would the shorter 3F block helped with clearance of the brake booster? Main reason I'm looking for a fuel injectioned engine is to mate to the A440F so the better half can drive it. She doesn't have a lead foot by any means. If the 3FE is a easier conversion that might be the way to go.
As for a FJ40 ever being done I'm hoping to get there. My latest is very close to stock and would like to bring it closer to stock. But if your going further from stock it's will never be done. Bought my 68 in 1974. With in a month I had a floor shifter and rollbar added. Since then there is always someting I wanted to do.
Haven't measured, have heard, ~2-2.5"? Don't know that it would help with the clearances? On an earlier rig, without power brakes, just leave the booster off until the motor is in, then put it were it fits and move the rod mount point over on the pedal.
