Stuck a bunch of parts on the motor, including the trans & transfer, stabbed it as a unit. Notes:

Cant use the load leveler, hits the firewall.

Remove the driver's side bell housing motor mount bracket and if it has '60 steering, remove the lower column shaft, makes life much easier.

Make sure the cherry picker is fully extended, otherwise the jack runs into the front cross member before the motor is in place.

Once in, the intake was solid into the brake booster and the lifting hook interfered with the heater valve. Will take pix, but moved and tipped the motor to passenger to get clearance.

The battery mount suffered a horrible, severing accident, had to stitch it back together, lost some stature in the process.

The air cleaner also suffered butchery.

The goal is to run the stock '62 cleaner, they are a very good, high capacity unit, but also large. Made some brackets to hold it, that allow it to be easily removed (3 nuts) to service other things in the area. Worked well.

The intake tube is a straight shot, so now shopping for intake tube, need two pieces, 3" ID x 4" long.

Due to the mods, the lower pan, under the radiator needed some trimming. Also had a broken tab, chopped some sheet metal, punched some holes, and stick it together.:hillbilly:

Jim brought his new 4 Plus rear bumper to replace the old 4 Plus one. You would think it would be a bolt on deal, but NO, had to drill new holes.

One would think that the light guards would fit? Nope!

A W E S O M E !!!!!!

Maybe replace the oil dipstick tube with a pipe plug for highly inverted situations now enabled by the EFI.

By the looks of it, it might not ever get pulled out once the install is complete. :)

You guys do amazing work...more pictures!

Stuff bolt right up the first time?!

I see Murphy's law is alive and well at your shop too :hillbilly:

Good catch on the fuel tank and lines. This 40 is going to be one nice rig when its done :wrench:

I am sure that you know Kevin but the super sweet washable oem 80 filter will go right in the 62 housing.

Great work!

Yep, but it has a new Wix filter with it and the cyclonic filters are so efficient, that it is likely to be a very long time before replacement is needed.:hillbilly:

hey now :flipoff2:

Kevin do you know how much taller the 2F block is than the 3F block? Would the shorter 3F block helped with clearance of the brake booster? Main reason I'm looking for a fuel injectioned engine is to mate to the A440F so the better half can drive it. She doesn't have a lead foot by any means. If the 3FE is a easier conversion that might be the way to go.

As for a FJ40 ever being done I'm hoping to get there. My latest is very close to stock and would like to bring it closer to stock. But if your going further from stock it's will never be done. Bought my 68 in 1974. With in a month I had a floor shifter and rollbar added. Since then there is always someting I wanted to do.
