In process of selling the finish mower for wife’s tractor, it’s 84” wide and using dads POS beat to hell 54” gravely recently I’m going back to Zero turn,

Looking for 60+ “ zero turn at home show in spring.

I added another one to the fleet this evening. I needed something better on fuel than my 68’ pickup for the daily commute.

I like it. What year?

An AP1 is on my bucket list. That engine and trans combo is legendary.

They are certainly a lot of fun and a completely different driving experience.

Been awhile since i checked in on mud to follow up on old threads.

Life with 2 littles getting into activities is taken away all my free time these days......

Thanks Brett! Life has a way of getting busy. Glad to see you still have time to hang around with us old guys occasionally.

I spent some quality time with the 68’ today. The brakes were due for a change on the front. While I had the brakes apart I repacked the wheel bearings. Then I cleaned and waxed the rims. The 19 year old Krylon was fading. Next up was a heater core replacement. It sprang a leak at the very end of winter. All of this is in preparation to sell it.

I spent some more time on the 68’ this weekend. I need to give the engine bay a little attention and then it will be ready to sell.

Well this week has been a mixed bag of blessings.

First the good news. I hired my daughter and SIL to install the leftover copper material under the front porch roof. It turned out pretty nice. I have some blue material leftover, so I will trim the inside with blue. Hopefully it will keep the carpenter bees at bay next spring.

Now for the not so good news. I learned this week that, in the not too distant future (maybe 5 years max) I will have an overpass built behind my property, that may or may not consume my shop. There is much to be discovered and discussed. I’m really not sure what to make of this situation. If the shop stays or goes, I don’t want to live next to an overpass.

@michaelb i am disturbed or you. The title of your post is “ I finally get the shop I have wanted for too long”. Many of us watched you carefully build and place things exactly where you wanted. I find that irony has no boundaries… GOOD LUCK filing against all of this…

Thanks Al but there will be no fighting this one. The city/state is building a loop around Huntsville as a bypass. They have been working on it for decades. There has always been rumors that it might come near my neighborhood but I never knew they were thinking about coming through the neighborhood. They will essentially cut the neighborhood in half. They had a multitude of possibilities on this side of town which they have narrowed down to two. Plan B isn’t much better than plan A at this point. They hope to have the plan finalized by the end of this year. There is going to be a public meeting to discuss the plan soon. So we wait for the meeting.

Well that does suck, small town I grew up is getting turnpike about quarter to half mile from the house I grew up in. We lived 3 miles from town and it seemed so remote now turnpike is going to change everything. Heart goes out to you as I'm sure this was your forever shop/home.

Thanks. It was supposed to be my retirement place. It’s not much but it is mine. I’m 62 with everything paid off. I am not enjoying the possibility of starting over at 67. Now that Huntsville is THE largest city in the state (3 years ahead of predictions), the infrastructure growth is really ramping up.

Thanks bud. I live looking up to my heavenly Father, knowing I am not in control, but eternally blessed. So we shall see what He has planned. 😇
Well, dang... whatever happens, I hope the best for you. Not that it's any consolation, but I've learned that sometimes the seemingly worst things, turn out to be a blessing in the end. Let's hope that is the case, if nothing else.
