Thanks Dan! I have been running the dodge seat since 04’, and I really like it. But I’m thinking of changing to a “buddy bucket seat” setup, if I can find one.Nice. Factory tach as well.

I started the next small project. I bought this OEM spoiler for the S2000 a little while ago, after months of searching. It’s in typical shape, with a lot of scratches from being tossed around after removal and missing attachment hardware. Now it’s time for some R&R and a color change.
My high school ride (‘69 3-on-tree) wasn’t as pretty but that dash brings back memories!

I did get the R&R completed on the spoiler. It has been decades since I have done any base/clear coat painting.
All went well until I checked my work yesterday evening. I apparently didn’t wait long enough between the base and clear. I had “solvent popping “ in the middle of it. I waited 30 minutes (the minimum according to the instructions)
You may never have seen once it was installed, but would have kept me up nights.
So this afternoon I took some 600/800 to it. Then I reapplied the color and clear. I have it 50 minutes between coats (60 minutes is the maximum). I’m pleased with the results. It’s not perfect but neither is the car it’s going on.

It never fails for me as well to wind up with that solvent problem every few paint jobs. I’m lucky once in a while that it hardens and sands well. I don’t understand solvent incompatibility, but, if these are the manufacturers materials and instructions…. I’d be upset for sure

I decided I had procrastinated long enough on the LT1 ECU wiring. I jumped in head first with aid of an online site that listed wires to be removed. About 4 hours later I was 80% finished and called it a day.
Gotta hand it to you @Michael B . Nothing like taking the leap and getting it done. My only fear in ECU wiring has been: our garage at work uses those Isuzu NPR W3500 trucks… on more that a few occasions, the dealership service has had to replace wiring harnesses on some of the cabs. You’d THINK it was un-plug..and reconnect…then follow that thru until they’re all re-connected
Tha’t’s when the check engine light comes on, they limp back to the shop and the trucks are tied up a few more days out of service when the guys with all the equipment..can’t get it done at the dealer level. It turns out that almost every ECU is matched to certain options in the cab and may need to be re-flashed just to change a few connectors
Makes me wonder when that happens and it really happens just that way. I’m sure you’ll get it exactly the way you want

Sunday I finished deleting the “unused” wires from the engine harness. My confidence in the information I was using took a hit, when I discovered one of the wires I was removing is the AC compressor wire. Hmmmm I may end up buying an aftermarket harness.

You would appreciate these wiring diagrams that I made for chopped or bobbed Indians, some time around 1973. Running a magneto instead of a distributor cut the number of wires down to eight!

Yeah, I was like 17-18 years old when I drew that and was wiring /working on some really old bikes back then. Took the time to add some little humor; my boss at the shop would have not been pleased if he ever knew I was spending time doing that, but he's been dead for a long time now.
Oh, and sorry to clog up your thread with this minutia Michael; please feel free to delete it if desired.
