The Maze is the least traveled part of Canyonlands. Permits are required to off road and camp. We are a 4 ship but they only allow 2 per site so we have Chimney Rock and Standing Rock about a mile apart.

This place is crazy remote. The trail is slow. Not hard. Just technical.

The 200 eats this s*** alive. No mercy.

The park guide says it takes 6+ hours to get to the Doll House. We rolled in in 5 hours and was back at Chimney Rock at rhe 6 hour mark.

It's pretty bulletproof. I'm almost 6000 miles into this trip and the only issue was a rock breaking my rear caliper off.

Edit. 6000 hard miles. I started the trip meter when we hit dirt in New Mexico.
80+% off road since.

We broke camp early and hit the trail south.

Just as we were leaving the park we saw that there was a "hard trail with a river crossing" so we struck out. I think it was Poison Spring Road and Dirty Devil River.

Spectacular scenery. Unreal.

Huge desolate country. I highly recommend this drive even if.......

....the river is way too high to cross. It rained the day before and all of the rivers are crazy.

We had to backtrack 30+ miles but it was different scenery going that direction

At the crossroads we hit the road south to Hite Crossing.

We had to get gas for some and we went south to Ticaboo. I ran all of that from Green River to Doll House then the 65 mile detour and I had 3 gallons left on the main tank

We jumped right back on dirt and the Burr Trail. It was legit tight stuff we used to get us up into the Henry Mountains to camp

175 miles. Hite to Ticaboo was paved but the rest was off road.

We woke up and made our way over to Capital Reef National Park.

The Henry Mountains are awesome. Glad we saw them

There are a lot of off road trails over there and I figured out the best way you catch them all.

The Burr Switchbacks were awesome

There is a cool in and out trail to the Capital Wash overlook. We ran into some Cajuns in a rental going up. It was funny. The wives bailed out. This land is huge and empty.

Once we got back on Burr Trail we made a loop through Wolverine Loop then up past Boulder and into Capital Reef the back way through south creek. That's a pretty legit tough trail.

We stopped at the visitor center and the grabbed some decent Mexican food at Chak Ballum in Torrey then we bailed out into Dixie National Forest.

We found a campsite at 10,580' by a lake. Unreal. Another awesome 200 mile off road day

You're correct about it being remote. The maze is reportedly the most remote area of the lower 48. Love it!

That point you sent me to today makes the maze look like it needs a Dollar General

We woke up this morning and worked our way along a 11,000' plateau. Fishlake National Forest. Very cool.

We wanted to see the devils backbone. Very cool. 12 to Escalante was beautiful. The burger at Nemo's was fantastic.

After lunch we struck out to explore Grand Staircase.

We tried to upload the Utah traverse but all we could get to load was the waypoints so we started in doing connect-a-dot
