just picked up humvee trailer for use with my FJ40 - do You think it's too big? 1,300 lb weight - 250 lb tongue weight. Tows great. I think it can make a nice camping trailer. Can't post pic from my phone - will try later from iPad

Yes - aluminum. The trailer is only 1,300lbs

I just took the hitch off my 40 for rear sill repair/repaint. There was a stress crack on the frame side of the bumper from top to bottom. Can't see it from the outside but underneath, it's very obvious.

I'm not saying you can't do it but I'd add some reinforcement to spread that stress over more than a 4 -5in bolt spread.

hOOt

The M416 is a much better fit for a 40, dry weight on that is 575lbs I believe. At 1,300lbs, your trailer may not weigh much given it's size but your 40 won't like towing it loaded with gear. I think my M416 is about 1,200lbs-1,500lbs fully loaded and sometimes it's a struggle, even with a V8

He said he had one and loved it. Guess he sold it. A RTT on the M416 would be a better fit track width then this, it has to be a pain on a narrow trail. I've towed my M101A1 a couple of miles with my 68. Better suited to tow my WWII MBT and M416. Picked up a trailer made from a early seventies Toyota pickup to get a tailgate it's better suited with just a slightly narrower track width.

Perfect size........... When you get that new Hummer
