Well that’s the boys dog, who we have pretty much rescued from a 21 year old kid who never should have a dog,
Gypsy took awhile to come to me last month but when she came running from the barn she had a duck in her mouth. Not trying to kill it instead the duck was just looking around like it was along for the ride. Gypsy walked into the mud room, set duck down and went right into the trailer. I picked duck up the slightly injured duck, carried it back to the pen and it did fine.
First occurrence she took a duck and ran off behind shop although we never actually saw her do it. My tracking skills following bunches of feathers revealed some damn big paws. Not coyote stuff nor could it be my labs. I was certain we had duck eaten and walked back to house where lying next to the carport was a more then slightly injured duck but he too survived.
We watch gypsy much more carefully now and she has had some training with a collar and comes to us quickly when called. She even stopped chasing a whitetail yesterday in the woods when I hollered at her. Although the last thing we needed was another dog and I tried my best to find home for her initially, now she is just part of the family.
