Best single beer I’ve ever had was a Miller Lite that had been in a icy cooler for about 36 hours. Chugged down in the park in St. George UT immediately after finishing my one and only full marathon. I’ve had tastier and more expensive ones since. But none better.

Her: “I’m not going to get a beer tonight”
Me: “work will still be there when we get back”
Her: “but I won’t want to work then.”
Me: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well the good news is I just managed to buy a NOS windshield for my '83 FJ45 Troopy from Mark's Off Road in Burbank. The bad news is Mark doesn't want to do anything further than hand it to someone.

So who lives near or travels to Burbank? o_O

I am about 2 hours from Burbank. I am sure there are Pig owners closer. Sadly, I just came back from the Bay Area and if this post was a week ago I could have helped. That being said, what is the plan once one gets the windshield? Taking steps to freight it to you?

Great question. So I have already shipped a 55 windshield across the country successfully so worse case is I ship that crate to whoever is willing to pick it up and they put it in the crate. I then get UPS or Fedex to pick it up and ship it back. The alternative I suppose is said person knows how to go to Home Depot and buy one of the Flatscreen boxes and packages it nicely for me and ships it back. I am well aware that people don't go through this kind of hassle for money necessarily but I would certainly compensate someone for their efforts.

I am in no hurry and will be looking for road trip opportunities later this year - although that is a long one and LA isn't exactly on my near-term list. Mark said it's on a high shelf out of the way and doesn't mind it sitting there for now. Just thought I would toss the idea out in case I get lucky.

PS: Guess I could post something in mudship. I'll give that some thought.

I live relatively near LA and I pretty much avoid it at all cost. I actually drive around LA when I go up north to visit family. If you can wait the Pig Party might be a good chance to exchange hostages. Or I can keep you in mind before my next trip north or maybe people closer and smarter will try to help.

I know of someone around Bakersfield looking to come to Grand Junction in a couple weeks to get some Pig parts. Then we are planning on touring Auburn with the daughter, if we are talking Alabama ,in a month and could probably figure out way to transport it.

Wow. That would be beyond fortuitous. Yes we are definitely talking Auburn Alabama.

Had an incredible day yesterday. An unbelievable Land Cruiser enthusiast a few hours north of Riyadh had some seat covers made for my Troopy and invited me up for the afternoon. The afternoon turned into a camel kabsa meal in the desert as well as hours of discussing all things around life, love, and Land Cruisers. I posted a lot of photos under my Troopy thread but thought I would share a few here.

looks like mid/late 60's,,, me and John Wayne had one so you know they were cool little rigs.

BTW, i aint driving to L.A. but if i can be of help with that glass i can certainly do some exchange driving to get it and package it to ship to you, my fee for most Land Cruiser matters is a large Mocha.

Thanks so much for the offer. I think project "windshield - coast to coast" has taken a life of its own and for the most part I have become a spectator. I won't bother with details until after the fact but let's just say how amazed I am that a slight cry for help has turned into a full scale logistics exercise. Great people on this forum.

while were on the subject of parts help.

i have been putting together the factory jack and rod/handle set

i found the yellow handle in a ReStore in Montana of all places, and i have the extension with the hook for the jack eye, does anybody have the second yellow extension rod they are wiling to let go?
